Daimu Akutsu: An Obstacle Made Right - Lost Judgment 

Kuze would be impressed with Akutsu’s ability to not give up

I recently came to the conclusion of Soma and Akutsu's partnership being a twisted version of Yagami and Kaito's partnership. On the surface, it's the same. We have the muscle who charges in, Kaito and Akutsu. And we have the brains of the operation, Soma and Yagami. However, Yagami and Kaito respect and care for each other. Their bond makes them stronger. They will risk themselves for each other. Soma and Akutsu have a distinct disdain towards one another. Clearly only business partners who are ready to stab each other in the back. So while Kuroiwa and Kuwana are foils for Yagami. Akutsu is a foil for Kaito, being a bastardized version of our himbo yakuza. Akutsu and Soma are foils for Yagami and Kaito as partners.

A focal character with a very interesting design. He’s flashy in the eye but he’s not too flashy to be comedic like that blond man from judgment. He reminds of what RGGO character design would be but they made them work in 3D

When Akutsu mentioned that Soma was able to abandoned Tojo without getting assassinated , I was saw it as Daigo was not into that policy. Just my theory but Daigo plan since becoming Tojo's clan Patriach is to bring the clan business more toward legit income. That's why back in Y3 Daigo happily welcomed Mine an established Stock trader into family. He was hoping Mine can help usher the era where Tojo not too reliant on underground dealing ( gambling & prostitution ).

Soma is good and all but THIS MAN JUST SCREAMS CHAD ENERGY

Akutsu was my personal favorite character in Lost Judgment He has a cool design and whenever he appears he completely steals the spotlight from everyone making himself the star of the show and his fighting style is really cool a mix of heavy attacks and grabs And for a boss you fight a lot i think they do it really well instead of putting a few chapters in between each fight like Kuze, with Akutsu you just go back to fighting almost immediately which makes each boss fight hit harder instead of you wishing there was another boss to fight instead of the same guy (that's one big problem with the Kuze boss fights) And i really like his dynamic with Kaito it's nice that he actually tries to use words to convince Kaito he keeps it civil instead of Rushing to the violent option let's just hope he ended up tanking those bullets and appears in the Kaito files (also KOG is POG)

what I like about akutsu is that he doesn't have complex emotions but a variety of it. Like kuwana and Yagami are focused and so they emote based on that goal but akutsu is just doing rk stuff until he gets rich enough to retire so every change is gonna trigger different state of emotion, like he is laid back but then kaito refuses his offer so he has the crew attack them, then he meets them in ijincho and is just too busy with work to give them a second thought. Even his final moment he doesn't care about the conspiracy or try to defend soma's character when kaito thinks he is an undercover cop, he just goes "oh shit this is not the place to have this conversation need to tell them to let me go." That gives him a lot more than if he was just an enforcer and make him different than kuze in style of obstacle, he doesn't care much about yagami but he is gonna kill him if he gets in his business

What I like about Akutsu is how he is an evil counterpart/foil to Kaito. Which makes their scene together all that more interesting. Feels like Akutsu specifically wanted to recruit Kaito into RK partially cause he saw some similarities of himself in Kaito. Hell even his relationship to Soma is a polar opposite to Yagami and Kaito's partnership.

I love the thing I love about Akatsu is that he is dressed like a trendy Yakuza thug. Not wearing a suit and pretty laid back until he see Yagami. Plus his theme is too good!

What I love about Daimu Akutsu is that every scene with him, especially the boss fights, I keep calling him "Rikidōzan" 😁😁😁😁 calling him after the late North Korean Sumo Wrestler who made a career in Japan and starting Japanese wrestling and trained Antonio Inoki and I forgot who else. But anyways, I call Akutsu "Rikidōzan" because of his size and strength. 😁😁😁😁

RGG never running out of ideas of making good characters

I like how he owns his bad fashion sense and kind of makes it work, I like how he's willing to mess you up in ways taken straight from headlines about Mexican drug cartels, I like the creepy smiles he makes at Yagami, and for all the hits he eats at the hands of Yagami and friends, I like how he keeps coming back for more. I can't give him too much trouble for his fashion sense though; I dress worse myself. Something I dislike about this game is how the enemies immediately recover from being EX-Action'd or QTE'd, like at 17:58. Just lessens the whole experience

Akutsu hit like a fucking truck in that one fight with barely any healing. I died 4 times trying to beat his ass, but he just tanks your attacks. On Hard difficulty too, it wasn’t even on Legend.

I needed more content for my Akutsu brain rot. I'm glad I got that. 10/10

Akutsu and Soma made for such cool villains!

When I was playing Lost Judgement Akutsu gave me some real Majima vibes, kinda made me wish they had kept him around.

I don't know why this only happened now but i fell in love with this man, his theme, his battles, his character.

They made a great job of making Akutsu a real presence whenever he showed up on screen. Soma was personally the perfect villain for me, but Akutsu had a great mix of charm, danger and intrigue

Ayo the kogchamp getting love There's a certain charm to him as a character, from being the mix of extremely tacky yet an intimidating figure, to the strength and power, and so on... And that absolute banger of a theme. While not as complex or well written as kuwana(who is the best rgg villain imo) Soma and akutsu steal the show as great secondary antangonists for me, and going through the story and fighting them(akutsu in particular) has been a really enjoyable part of LJ #gigachadakutsu

Akutsu is by far one of my favorite Yakuza villains. He steals the show everytime he's on screen.The fights against him are fun, granted he hits like a tank (I almost died during the 3rd fight against him). Not to mention, KOG is a banger. It sucks that Soma basically betrays Akutsu and sends his goons to kill him.

Only natural he would challenge us as hard as he’s challenged by fashion. The universe has a way to balance itself

Man i love this video please make more for other characters! That intro is the best in rgg games not only in the series. Let's keep the discussion up about the game, maybe we can give it more exposure! I personally love Akutsu, his face is scary and he has those looks of someone who has a loose screw, he looks the brute dumb guy but he is actually smart and knows what he is doing.

That's the good stuff right there. I did enjoy Akutsu's character but oddly enough I appreciate him more in looking back after I played the game more so than in the moment. It's a shame he goes out the way he does but that's the way it is sometimes. The selfie he does at his intro is gold. What a bizarre and unique way to assert himself and control the scenario. Love it. RGG does character so well. Writing, personality, layers and design. In my personal opinion, character is one of the reasons I enjoy the Yakuza series and Judgment so much. The plots can get a little odd sometimes but the way they write and do character is always really good. Layered, complex, flawed. Even minor characters or supporting get enough elements to make them good. I'd definitely watch more videos like this.

Great video man i happy that someone give Akutsu more spotlight, "...Also I love how Hamura and Akutsu are in similar scenarios yet they are acting completely different (massive spoilers) the introduction scene are played similar but akutsu acting chill when he see Yagami and Kaito, in similar scene Hamura beat his thug for even try to beat stronger then him and he acts passive aggressive towards Yagami, another scene is when Akutus wanna kill Yagami even when he tell his goons to do that first, he decided to kill yagami himself yet Hamura in Cafe Alps (also Akutsu and Hamura gets introduction in same or similar spot) he just wanna scare Yagami in the first place but when he decided to kill him he wanna to Kengo do the dirty work, and the final Hamura redeem himself and even when he go to jail he atleast he is still alive, Akutsu gets killed but Public Security because he realise the truth when its too late." (I copy my message from yakuza no damage discord server) You can probably saw more things like that but its still really cool that somehow Akutsu play similar role to Hamura but his story is completely different, RGG really done good job in that case.

I love his outfit, wish we saw more of him and that he turned out to be an okay guy ater the events of LJ.

I don't know how many here have played Fatal Fury or King of Fighters, but Akutsu always reminds me of Yamazaki, who is my favourite character from both series. Maybe it's do with both being big, blonde-haired ex-yakuzas with buckets of personality lol.

Really enjoy these videos, they're really well done. Appreicate you go for more "Obsure" (at least if you're not as invested in the seires) characters

Honestly Akutsu reminds me a bit of Majima in a way. Specifically the way Majima was portrayed in the first yakuza game.

so thats why i feel deja vu when i see Akutsu's final dynamic intro, he is posing like Tendo. My first impression on Akutsu is his design is so loud, completely opposite of Soma. And about his role, Akutsu reminds me to Shioya in the first game. I like them and then they died.

He's well designed, despite is odd clothing choice. When I played through on Legend, I used Yakuza 0's Misery comes on beat when facing him, and to be honest, it fits him very well

Akutsu is pretty cool, just wished his moveset was more varied. There's a mod that lets you play as him with his own moveset but it's very lacking. He was designed to be a boss fight involving mobs and it showed

Daimu Akutsu is like The Big Nose / White Man on every Pink Panther series. Just pure annoying character, and nothing special for the entire story.
