An iconic cocktail that always hits the mark, whether its served in its traditional form or as a fruity frozen version!
Created in 1898 it was named after a town in Cuba and is the perfect mix of sweet and sour.
INGREDIENTS
2 oz / 60 ml lightly aged rum
2/3 oz / 20 ml freshly squeezed lime juice
1/3 oz / 10 ml rich syrup

Simple, classy, and beautifully shot! Is rich syrup different than simple syrup?

Its a 2:1 ratio of sugar to water whereas a simple syrup is a 1:1 ratio

The nice thing about 2:1 syrups is that they tend to be shelf stable for long periods of time so you don't have to use up precious refrigerator space.

A newer misnomer, simple syrup used to always be at least 2:1 sugar to water but nowadays people have started to make it 1:1. It doesn’t make any sense whatsoever, more water in your drink to get it as sweet as you would with 2:1, you have to refrigerate it as opposed to 2:1 with no benefits whatsoever.

Use 2 tbsp of sugar you can blend it like this too is how we make it on the island

Those are some interesting specs. Though that does sound great though, the rich simple should give it a silkier texture. I used to do 2:1:.75, but now I do 2:.75:.75 with a 1:1 simple. Just lets the rum shine more

Yeah, I did a spec comparison and this was my personal preference.. fairly similar to your 2:0.75:0.75 spec.
