They are kind of like a distorted Stray Cats fronted by a cockney Claire Grogan (of Altered Images) here. But true, nothing like them and ahead of their time as there were loads of bands punky garage rock bands that sounded like this a decade later and in the 2000’s
She's the one to Disappear you from all your mates for ages cos similar happened to me. Radiant, confident, fun, smart, and bestie all in one ( helped with some revision on coursework both ways) Still Besties! 👍😎
Fell in love with Katyjane when I was 17. Well pleased to see she came back to us after her quiet time. Queenadreena are a stompin' rock out and the Ruby Throat stuff is just beautiful. KJG is a true artist and we are lucky to have her.
I remember discovering this band because Beavis & Butthead were watching this video. My thoughts were pretty much the same as B&B's: "Hey, this chick seems like...really cool" =)
Roseanne season 5 episode 10 Good Girls, Bad Girls 11/24/92 brought me here. I thought it was a fake name, since it was only marquee sign, no concert footage *posted 1/10/16*
This was a revelation to me when it came out in '92 (I was 15 at the time), along with God Fodder by 'Neds. That kinetic mix of Mudhoney buzz saw and NYDolls skuzz was manna to me. I feel sorry for the little EMO kids today and the pristine tripe they have to contend with.
Blast from the past! I saw them at TT the Bears in Cambridge, MA in '92 on their first U.S. show. Katy-Jane was going mental, over the top!! So much so, she was taken to the hospital after the show. I was working at college radio station and chatted with the other members and had them record a station ID.
@Explosivecupcake16 They precede Courtney Love's 90's look by a few years. I'd say Garside's look was probably influenced or inspired by early Danielle Dax or proto-goth Alien Sex Fiend and the like. You should have seen how crazy Garside was live. She blew Courtney Love out of the atmosphere.
Hey did that scene in the bathtub with the green slimey shit with the guy cooking an egg was stolen by Harmony Korine for that scene in Gummo? Was a teen in love with that girl oh well...
this song is the early 1990s alternative rock version of Pink Floyd's "Have a Cigar" from the 1970s. Mocking scummy record company people who throw money around and promise the moon to young bands.
I grew up in a small town in Texas. Nobody listened to anything that i listened to. I left every weekend and went into Fort Worth and Denton. I was a junior high school kid hanging out with college kids listening to good music and they always got me into the club's and i was under age. Everybody knew it but they let me in because i used to dress the part. I looked like a rock star back then. Now music sucks! Its all crap! I dislike everything these days! Man i miss the 80's and the 90's. Where is a fricking time machine?
