instead of a magic circle, you can do 2 single crochetes, and chrochet 10 in the first stitch

the written pattern if anyone wants it: make a magic circle 10 dc into it close circle slip stitch into 1st stitch chain 2 (counts as 1 dc) chain 1 dc into same stitch 2 dc into every stitch (20 stitches incl. that 1st chain 2) slip stitch into 1st stitch change colours sc into same stitch 1hdc 5dc in same stitch 1 hdc 1 sc keep repeating w/ the next stitch being 1hdc end w/ 1hdc slip stitch into the 1st stitch 1hdc in next stitch 2hdc in the next stitch 2hdc 2hdc 2hdc 2hdc 1hdc 1sc repeat this until you get all the petals slip stitch cut thread

Right before changing colors I ended with 22 stitches... I don't get it because when you started that row you did two double crochet's (3:09 you said do another double crochet in the same hook that you chained 2 which already count as 2 double crochet's before the 20 that you are gonna do next...)
