Either did I. It's so cool though. My son's brothers I hope to teach firearms safety with the one I just bought. The box was definitely older and faded brown.
Daisy also made a Model 94 BB Gun . If they had innovative and intrepid leadership they would have adapted that platform to a similarly constructed 22 LR version repeater or falling block 22 cal. Wood also lends to higher desirability as well as the ability to increase the sight radius by use of tang mounted peep sights.
I wish they still sold these at Big 5 Sporting Goods where I bought one for one of My stepsons about 30 years ago for about $25.00 it looked like it was made of pot metal with a steel barrel liner bolt and other important parts of steel. A nice wood stock version would have made for a more attractive rifle but overall I was impressed and it made getting into shooting for those on a small budget affordable. I Myself Have many firearms and He inherited a much used old gallery gun that shot well but needed extractor and stock work. The rotary Magazine worked as well as the Ruger version. Companies like Henry , Savage ,Ruger and Daisy could increase sales and enthusiasm in the shooting sports that could carry over into other future sales by introducing replica versions of military style rolling and falling blocks like the Sharps carbine . Rorkes Drift Martini etc. in single shot and repeater using polished brass and other metals ant metal treatments to simulate attractive appearance in small arms chambered for 22 long Rifle that does not require great strength and can utilize sleeving and stamping in manufacture to make affordable , functional , accurate and attractive pieces that have historical appeal and contribute to expanding interest in other facets of shooting , collecting and re enacting.
Heh, my gun shoots fine but the bolt is now sliding out completely when extracting cartridges. Any thoughts? I can see there is a plastic face on the catch on the trigger mechanism. Do you think that is worn, can I get a replacement? Thanks, ml
@@robertcox1104 i dont have mine in front of me anymore. I sold all my daisy rifles. hold your original mag next to your bx mag. You will notice the nob on one end and the indent. You will have to sand the the nob end down till it matches the original mag. What daisy did was copy the ruger mag than changed it alittle bit to avoid a lawsuit.
The gun does come with a tool for barrel removal but if I remember right it was a pos. Just a flat piece of black metal that looked like a spanner wrench. I swear I seen mine not meant years ago but I couldn't tell you where it was now. And just curious, do you know how to remove the little trigger pin?
Nice video. Mine never came with a tool to break down the barrel. U wouldn’t know if there are any clips for the legacy rifle. I missed place mine… I am looking for a clip…
I've got this exact model! Can you separate the stock from the receiver or is that as far as you can break it down cause my stock is a little loose! Also do you know anywhere I can find the clip, I have friends who have one and missing the clip!
if you push the button in and slide the butt piece back about 3/4 of an inch them push the button in all the way and turn it gently with a quarter 1/2 turn it will pop out and the butt plate will slide off and you can see the stock bolt up in side
@@coolhandjake4570 thanks for the reply, yeah I searched all the forum's online and seen someone had mentioned this, it still didn't seem to work, but after about an hour, I finally found if you get it in just the right spot, you can actually turn it with your finger! Yes, the stock tightened up easy, very pleased with it now! 👍
