I decided to upgrade my Saltiga 2020 with a new SLP spool and power knob, just because I can 😁
Easy installation and looks great. All parts was purchased from Iso Fishing Lifestyle.

Good vlog. Any reel + rod combo on the rocks gets scratched, you need to view it more as a fish catching tool and keep it clean and free of salt after the session.

You kind of look like my dad Really nice Saltiga though! I reckon you’re going to catch some big ones mate! Did some modifications to my BGMQ 14k and now the drag clicker sounds really nice and loud

@@TeamKingiesFishingCrew yeah he is! Can be a bit annoying sometimes but he was born in Vietnam so I can understand why hahaha The BGMQ is rubber sealed instead of mag sealed but I had a dream of the a Saltist in an MQ body and I even drew a concept for it, it looks great

Near the end you stepped away to add in another washer because the knob was moving a lot. Did you add another washer inside the round knob or on the handle?

I think it was on the handle.

the handles come with 2 thick washers, a small one that goes on the screw, and a larger one that goes on the handle, then the shim washers and bearing go onto the handle, if theres any movement or its too tight, you need to add/remove the shim washers from the handle end behind the bearing, no adjustment is done at the knob end (outside at the screw)

Hey bro, but can you do the reverse? I have the 8000, so could I put the 14000 SLP spool on it, or is the rotor too small if you do it that way around? Are you keeping the T-bar knob you replaced with the SLP round one? or you keen to sell it? Chur da bro

Hey David. Yep, the body for 8k, 10k and 14k are all the same. So the spools are interchangeable. Also, I'm keeping the tbar knob as a spare. Thanks mate

Bro did you ever try to put on saltiga 8000h the spool of 14000xh? Is saltiga 8000h and saltiga 14000 have the same rotor? At the page of Daiwa it show that spool are compatible but i want to know if someone try it. Thanks.

Based on the info I got from ISO, it's the spool that makes the reel XH or just H. Kind of makes sense when you think a bigger spool will retrieve more line per crank than a smaller spool.

Hey mate, the 2020 Saltiga series spools in the 8000,10000 and 14000 are all compatible between those 3 sizes.

Quick question. I just installed the knob, and it spins smooth but no crazy fast and easy, should I spin for more than one rotation? If so what did I do wrong, I tried several things

That seems strange mate. I would check the washers. Take note that this knob is much lighter than the egg knob, so it would not spin as fast as the egg knob.

@@TeamKingiesFishingCrew it spins but not like a slammer or Stella where a tiny flick will spin for 15 to 20 seconds. The slp spins like 2 rotations

Hey mate. I got this from ISO, and there was two types to choose from, egg & round. Obviously I got the round one. There was only 1 size available.

It's all in Japanese writing. All I can read it says L, which I assume is for large, and it weighs 27grams.

No, that's not normal. Take it back to where you bought it from and ask them to look at it.

Is the saltiga 14000 the same size as the saltiga 8000 (weight, body, bearings etc) just a different size spool ?

The SLP spool and round knob is lighter than the stock one, so it should be lighter overall. I bought it because I like the look. The actual body of the reel is the same for 8k, 10k and 14k.

Spot on, it was one of the selling point of this size for the Saltiga. The 14k spool is faster retrieve, the 10k & 8k is slower. Good for different types of lure fishing.

have you ever been spooled??? I have and I'd never use a 8000, 10000 or 18000 spool(not anymore), only the 14000 and the 20000 spools, if you don't need the capacity it doesn't matter, if you do hook somethin' big it's essential and it's only 10g (1/3 oz) difference, not worth to go with the smaller spools, the big one doesn't hurt and brings only benefits!
