Nice review. I think that the Tatula is easily one of the best ‘everyman’ baitcast reels going. You get a lot of useable tech from higher end reels for reasonable money. Magforce Z is a real step up, and seems to handle lighter lures than Shimano DC reels. You can also get aftermarket spools online that make a big difference for finesse applications. For low tens of dollars, you can get a large diameter drilled out spool that will let you run 80 metres or so of super fine braid. Less line and less spool mean less inertia, and less overruns. Line bite is an issue with fine braid on baitcasters, so having less wraps on an oversized spool help with that too. I have recently converted a Tatula 100 and have it on a TD Black Finezza, and it is the best light lure setup I can ever see myself affording.
It really is crazy how far you can go modification wise on reels to suit your desired application/technique. Not something I'm really into, but definitely not a naysayer when it comes to that sort of thing. Really appreciate your view and comments mate thanks for tuning in.
Hey mate, thanks alot for tuning back in. So thanks for noticing the difference haha I have certainly been trying to level up production quality lately.
Thanks Jeff. I certainly have intentions to do more videos like this. I have slowed down my purchasing of gear a little bit as most of my attention has been on getting the boat sorted.
Thank Ben. Yeah I definitely love my tatula gear, I wanted to get some good use into them before reviewing them so got a couple of seasons out of em 1st. The tinny will have its own walk around video soon just waiting for some time to free up and some less windy weather. It's coming tho👌👌
