The point made about Greg Taylor and throw in was really astute. Celtic scored a lot of goals from quick throws in previous 2 years because the players were well organized and knew what they were all meant to be doing. This year we struggle to maintain possession from a throw. That is without doubt the responsibility of the coach. It is March and how we still can't take a throw in baffles me.

Listening to this, and I guess I’ve felt this way for a while this season, I’ve concluded that Rodgers is a charlatan. The dire nature of our recruitment in recent seasons, the lack of in-depth quality on the pitch, are all valid assessments/observations. - But HE’S our manager ! When will he accept at least SOME part of the responsibility for how the team are playing ? (Rhetorical question). His voiced concerns about “lack of quality”, “need more quality”, and so on, while valid, come over (for this observer at least) as attempts to exonerate himself from any responsibility whatsoever. What other effect can it have on players but to make them doubt their own abilities and be a barrier to them giving of their best ? Surely for any manager, the identification of the need for higher quality (a key part of the role) is for internal dialogue rather than spraying it around here there and everywhere ? For me, his “free pass” card has expired .

You say lagerbielke must be worse than Welsh and scales but the manager also decided to play turnbull over hatate at the start of the season, so who knows 🤷🏼‍♂️

Remember that Welsh and Scales were the starters against the rangers at Celtic park and they were fine. Until welsh got injured as usual

The issue with Scales is that when he first came into the team back in August/September, the bar was VERY low for him. At that time he was behind CCV, Nawrocki, Lagerbielke, Phillips & Welsh for the CB positions. We all feared the worst having to start him at Ibrox. The fact that he was anything other than total shite, came as a very pleasant surprise to us all. Didn't Rodgers even say Scales was the biggest surprise of his managerial career or something along those lines...? Ok great, he's not a complete diddy but that shouldn't mean he's still one of the first names on the team sheet 6 months (and a transfer window) later! The bar was set low in August/September and Scales managed to clear that very low bar of - "Please just don't be complete shite". But that was supposed to be a temporary situation brought about by an injury crisis in one position. It is long past the time to raise the bar. We're crying out for better quality in the CB positions but it's too late for this season and we're left just hoping for the best now. On the plus side, the general standard of opponent isn't all that great so we could still squeeze a League & cup double from this season despite our glaring weaknesses.

Here to apologise, start the season I was impressed by Scales but his inability to play simple balls, not get caught on the wrong side of the striker etc is criminal.

Let's not forget these players would've been recruited by Lawell, remember him,Rodgers needs a transfer window then we can judge him,think he's done well to keep us in the title race,what with injuries and players at his disposal H.H.

If you keep playing for plan A without having the players to pull it off but you also have no plan B you're going to suffer in any team game. Everyone's scoring against us because our central defenders are poor, yes, but also they are way too exposed for their level and this is on Rogers. There has to be more protection for them even if it means that Rogers changes tactics and style, he should have found a way to get better results with what he has had available

Guys, if the max level of the guys available is a 7/10 and you need a 9/10 to be good enough then, well, that's recruitment and retainment (not his job) and unavailability (physio isn't his job either). You Look at the guys that have had periods of long term unavailability with CCV (our best defender), CalMac (our best defensive mid), Hatate (our best attacking mid) and Kyogo carrying a shoulder injury then you add the Palestine/Israel situation taking Abada on top of losing Jota, Mooy and Starfelt and a period at the start of the season where we were forced to play Scales and Lagerbielke because 5 central defenders were unavailable, it's commonly accepted you don't want to chop and change a centre back pairing, you start to see the conditions weren't great for consistent performances. THEN after you add FFP in England allied with international competitions in Africa and Asia sabotaging the transfer market in January and the stone-cold FACT that that money in the bank is 1 not all excess and 2 not a lot of money compared to the support's ambitions and BR is a tough spot. 'Profit before taxation of £40.7m'.. we could lose the UCL pot, basically that could be gone entirely. Look who started at the weekend, you add CCV, Nawrocki, McGregor, Hatate, (Abada, ) Yang, Palma... much stronger. It isn't just numbers its the important player. Only us could get loss out of a victory. Other clubs are glad of a win no matter the style and Sevco narratives are 'We won' whatever the actual scoreline HH

Can we win the league? Can we go on a long winning run that will be required ? Got to say fellas highly improbable . It’s as if we are on a rebuilding program and around 20% down the line . Signs that kuhn and Yang may have a future but it’s grim . Most influential players injured orelilly and Kyogo a pale imitation of self . Got to say looks ominous..

Kuhn has been suffering from the wisdom teeth removal, lost weight and whatnot but he always showed technical quality. I think the key to why Yang looks better is Idah. With Idah assisting deep allowing our midfield to move in as well as Idah again being a real threat in the box everybody elses game became so much simpler. All Yang has to do now to look good is to beat a guy and get a cross in to our 190 striker or pass AJ and let him do the cross. Kuhn seems to be capable of the same move. Cant play like that with Kyogo. Idah is so incredibly important for this team but you can also see how things fall apart as soon as hes off. Rodgers team and playstyle is beginning to take form, shame he didnt get more support in the jan window.

I don't think BR has, what we would call our best 11, available this season. The injuries to crucial players has plague us all season. Sunday for instance,, Callum, CCV, Hatate, 3 of our best players out. I don't blame BR,, to me the lack of quality players to cover those who are injured is down to the so called recruitment team in the last 2 transfer window.

Curious with Brendan saying forrest is the best winger at the club, don't know if it's a thinly vieled dig at the board or the squad. Players performance is a worry, Kyogo has gone awol, if the team wasn't playing well and he was scoring then it's not so bad as someone is doing the job but he's an imposter this season. Defense we've all talked about and who is the best available defenders really? CCV and Hatate have been unreliable this season.

This season cannot end quick enough for me. In all my years watching Celtic I have never been so bored as a spectator. The club have always been about exciting attacking football but BR has changed all that. No idea what they work on in training every session as nothing changes. My one wish for next season is not seeing most of these duds back again.

Love this pod, but you guys are far too charitable to Rodgers. If we hired any other manager, and they took last years team, minus Jota, Mooy & Starfelt; Added several bang average players, benched Hatate for Turnbull, had Kyogo playing the worst he's been since he joined by far, signed no replacement keeper for a retiring, ageing Hart, and called James Forrest the best winger on the team in March 2024, you'd have been getting Tom Boyd's smelling salts rubbed into his giant gnashers. I don't know what has happened to Rodger's style of play, but what he has done to the team is absolute garbage. He picks the team. He makes the final decision on signings. He designs the tactical play. We're awful with him this time round, and he's the main man to blame.

Good show lads but I just cannot get my head round the amount of exuses for Rodgers performing so poorly! The players have been pish but so has the manager! With the players at his disposal he should be doing far far better! 10 games since the winter break, 8 a struggle and 2 won comfortably. One of those being Buckie thistle. And again I’ve heard the Rodgers being here next year even if we don’t win the league which is absolutely fuckin incredible! He’s been a disaster from day one! I love the channel and the content you create, but boys, come on, stop being Brendan Rodgers apologists. He came out and complained that the performance wasn't good enough to take the spotlight off of himself. He then blamed the players and took zero responsibility for himself. Yes, he has a system he wants to play, but he needs to adapt to the players he has, he isn't saying "I have standards you need to reach", he is saying "I cant adapt to your strengths to win a game". All he's doing is throw his players under the bus, destroying their confidence, and essentially saying they have no future at the club. If that was your manager would you bust a gut for him? We had a 7 point lead ahead of theRangers with 2 games in hand, and now we're at a deficit in the league, that all falls on Brendan.
