Dakota Johnson explains to 'Bustle' why she 'probably will never' make another superhero movie again after 'Madame Web.' The actress also opens up about being a stepmom to boyfriend Chris Martin's two children, Apple and Moses.
I don't think shes a fan of being in superhero films based on her history in interviews in promoting this film and honestly its better she doesn't. The only thing she can act is being in porn flicks like fifty shades thats about it
The biggest problem is that this wasn't a superhero movie. It was the setup to a superhero movie. So her saying she doesn't want to be in another superhero film is so sad becuz, she still hasn't been in a superhero film yet.
You either die a hero, or you live long enough to see yourself become the guy who was in the Amazon with my mom, when she was researching spiders right before she died.
The same people who wrote morbius co wrote madame Webb fire them please stop letting them make movies they also wrote gods of Egypt the last witch hunter 17% on rotten tomatoes there highest rated film Dracula untold has a 4.5/10 why are executives this fucking dumb to keep hiring writers and repeating the same process is commercially flop feats
@jiveturkey9494 There's nothing wrong with the movie, I enjoyed it. This movie was made for a family. not for older people who still think they are 14 years old. The majority of the people are streaming and don't go to the movies anymore. You must be from the older generation.
They completely skipped over the fact that Dakota Johnson herself said that fans can “sniff” out if a production is BS and it’s usually BS when the industry/studios think that the audience are not smart enough and can be easily entertained by the low quality, pandering material that they make in these films, especially comic/ superhero productions now. Johnson went on to say that she believes audiences are extremely smart, in-spite of what the industry believes, and it’s that disconnect from what is who the fans and audiences, truly are, which leads to movies like Madame Web to fail-- so very hard and now, very often. Honestly I think ET left out the other things Johnson has said about the film, not only to give Sony, it’s distributors, investors and production partners the “proper face” which is expected for them to have given this box-office FLOP-- BUT because it’s entertainment news agencies and outlets like ET that help and promote the hype marketing machine for films like this, despite knowing from their own industry sources, from screenings to critical studio reviews, that many film and tv productions are petaling garbage like what Madam Web turned out to be-- and just like so many others, promote the narrative (as part of damage control so many times), where it’s toxic fandom that’s the blame, and that marginalized groups need representation(i.e, “a voice”)-- despite the fact that the reality is, more times than not, those same marginalized groups(that I’m part of too) are often part of the same fandom(collectively) that pans the film, is critical of the production and the motives of those who made it: ironically, we who were also, supposedly, “target” audiences, see the films/tv shows for the BS they are.
Will Dakota Johnson be in another bad movie though? Either Dakota needs a better manager or choose carefully on which future roles are good for her career.
I believed it's a prequel of the actual hero movie. She's actually the right person for the role. It's awkward and confusing just like the discovery of the character is.. for me I am eager to see how her character will develop and hoping it will develop. 😊😊😊
For what it’s worth I didn’t think the movie was bad, It could’ve been better , but I believe it shows potential for future sequels I’m actually surprised they cast Dakota Johnson as madam web. I feel like she could’ve been cast as the original spider woman.
The movie was alright. It wasn’t good nor bad. It wasn’t even that bad. I actually enjoyed that film. I wish Dakota could come back as Madame Web in the future if she’s still interested, but I really respect her opinions though
I saw it tonight. I also enjoyed it. Its too bad the stars are crapping all over it now. The internet decided to take a dump on the movie but I've seen far worse.
This actually makes me sad because the movie was a pretty good and very entertaining. Shows how people are so influenced to love or hate something before seeing it
Literally tons of people who’ve seen it said it wasn’t good. My sister saw it and said it was super boring and the plot made little sense and she regrets seeing it.
@@shintsukiwithalaptop372 some people just don’t like certain movies and that okay, but me I believe that it was pretty good especially for a newer spider women movie, we don’t have many spider women movies, atleast not that I know of
@@veronicalau1734 if someone tells me they went into a forest and there’s aggressive bears in there so I should not go in, I’m going to listen to them. Otherwise why would reviews exist. I’m not going to put money or time watching something if I don’t know what I’m getting into.
@@unknown_person825 if it really was good, they’d have the spider women doing actual stuff as spider women and not walking around confused doing nothing except in a flashback
The movie was good everyone who watched it loved it a lot. The plot was amazing, deep, mystery, very Dr. Strange esque with her being psychic and all the plot twists. Super good writing foil like how she starts off as a bitter character who hates kids, and then ends up having to protect 3 random kids, and resolves her childhood trauma with her mom. So she finally opens up her heart and becomes a nicer person in the end. The internet just decided it’s bad and already hated the movie before it even came out. Bandwagon is a hell of a thing. A lot of people hated it for being feminist which makes no sense because there was nothing political about it, the plot had nothing to do with her being an empowered independent woman lol. Super upset everyone ruined it because I would’ve wanted a part 2 :(
She read the script and took the paycheck. As far as her acting goes, I would not go see a movie just because she is in it, like I would if it were a Julia Roberts movie
Sometimes flicks flop but you can tell when an actor/actress gave their all. In this case, nope. Case in point, when she says "you don't need to know anything going into this film." Nope. It's like going into an interview having done no research. A simple Wikipedia search and a few hours of reading would give you all the context you need to know about the character your playing or the storylines she's involved with. For example, I don't watch anime. But sometimes the stories catch my attention and I read up on the plot points of a certain story. Then when friends who do watch anime bring up those shows I can still talk about it with them like I know what I'm talking about. Sometimes they get surprised I haven't watched but know certain details.
I mean you really don't need to research the character because this was an origin story, you were supposed to learn everything you need to know by watching it, it would be confusing to research the character because its so different and there is really not that much about her
I feel bad for her and the other actors. Dakota thought she was joining the MCU, but Sony lied to her. But anyway, I hope Kraven The Hunter and Venom 3 do well though. I also heard that Kraven will be R-rated. I just hope it gets a 2hrs run-time. #MakeVenom3andMorbius2RRated and make them both get a 2hrs run-time. If you’re gonna show more too much violence, then might as well make them both R-rated like Deadpool and Logan since Deadpool & Wolverine will both be R-rated and probably get a 2hrs 40mins or maybe 3hrs run-time
Theirs literally another movie similar to this about a building that burnt and some person didnt do anything to save them and somehow he can see the future now and some of his neighbors know how he is and what he did or some bs like that, it has a similar plot story as madam web, the bad thing is that i cant remember the movie that i am talking about
That's probably for the best... But sad that she was lied to, and she was handed by horrible people that worked on this movie. They never read one single comic from Spider-Man. That represents madame web well
I think they just need to reboot the movie itself her character is ment to center around the entire spider verse i think it would of been better as a tv show setting up for another spider man movie with all different spider man variants form different universes
Are they forever the actors and actresses to make a movies that they see is no a good movie ??? Excuse my poor English. I use to be fan of the movies of Scarlett Johansson until Lucy and lather she was in super heroes movies that I no like anymore.
Well, the thing is… Dakota Johnson actually does have the ability to do a decent job acting. If you watch the film Bad Times at the El Royale you’ll see what I mean. I do think that her performance in this film was lacking, though.
Please don’t put Dakota in action pack movies she has a weak character she belongs in romance. Her character/personality is too weak compared to the females that play black widow, captain marvel, wasp, and etc
Honestly u gotta blame their agents... It's so wierd that in the age of internet these big nme celebs with their army of managing teams were fooled into believing they were joining the mcu when they clearly weren't A simply Google search would've saved matt
I hate it when actors/actresses trash their own movies. Personally, I thought it was good and more entertaining/engaging than Dune Part 2 the current overhyped movie.
Its kinda stupid movie and the casting was not interesting either. How those three girls were not even powerful. And ridiculous how she ended up wearing glasses in wheelchair like Charles. 😂😂
