That's when he finally opens the door and fires at the Alternate which is a sign he truly was Hopeless. Suicidal, no one came to help him. The being that Mark had been praying to... Wasn't God but to an Alternate. A False God who have created the Alternates. *Satan himself* Mark didn't know this But the viewers knew
That's true, props to you for having the patience to write that down, I'd just like to commentate on something: The line "Who have I been praying to all this time?" is actually terrifying. The reason religions exist is the need of humans to believe in something, yet in the Mandela Catalogue, that "something" doesn't actually exist, and it just showcases how exploitable humans can be when their beliefs are at play, that's what Gabriel exploited in the shepherds to send his underlings (alternates) to basically infiltrate humankind. Alex Kister really did a good job into dissecting the horror in Mandela Catalogue without using much gorefests and jumpscares, by using incredibly premature instincts.

I would recommend having them watch lyrical version of some of these, as it gives more context of the plot. I knew a really good one for Encounter Z you can use
Nothing is worth the risk means there is nothing to gain when having an alternate encounter, because it ends in trauma and death. (Correct me if I'm wrong but this is just what I think it means).
I think the phrase appeared in the T.H.I.N.K. or something else, but it pretty much means to ignore people asking for help bc they might be an alternate, so it's not worth the risk helping them, even if it was actually a person
For the most part, i believe it means also not just that you will cause an alternate encounter, but that in doing so causes so much despair and pain from knowing more than what you are supposed to know, which would be worse than death itself.

I can't tell if people agree with the fact that Cesar was always an alternate or not- but all I'm gonna say is, he was never an alternate to begin with. Edit: and also, in the song Intruder, when there is the drawing part, that represents the drawings that Mark drew, of himself, and of the Intruder. This was shown in the first episode of Mandela Catalogue.

I don't think mark killed himself to not get killed by the alternate, i think he got the M.A.D sickness, the alternates use psychological harm not physical, so yeah just to break that cycle :/

actualy the old man is Noah. He is the one that built the ark to save two of each animal and his family from gods flood. The reason god sent a flood is becuse back in noah's time everyone exsept for noah was so bad that god had to send a flood to wash out all the badness to start again
