But what did the 3rd mosquito do to get killed..For him it's the first time of him sucking blood, so why do the first 2 mosquitoes get to live while the 3rd one dies ? That's considering all 3 mosquitoes were different.
I think the lesson he was trying to teach was that even when someone or something tries to attack you try your best to peacefully handle the situation. Sometimes you may allow it to happen to a certain extent. Sometimes a little action may be needed. Or sometimes very assertive action may need to be taken. But what ever you do try your best to handle the situation peacefully.
There is no way a mosquito can die from a flick no matter how hard, it needs to be squashed or drowned or electrocuted to die, they cant die from falling from a building either, size does matter, and the smaller you are the more resilient in this case, because you would be so light , the bigger they are, the harder they fall. Size dictates the surface area of your body, i can probably kill a rat with a hard slap, but a small mosquito will probably just glide with my hand

i think it means if someone does you harm: 1st time ignore and let it be, forgive 2nd time lovingly distance from their behavior and protect yourself 3rd time give a clear warning and get rid of them out your life Afterwards do not allow that person to suck the life out of you, take distance/keep them away. @@your-mom-irl Nope, the Dalai Lama is considered to be a reincarnation of a bodhisattva (Avalokitesvara, bodhisattva of compassion). Bodhisattvas are just regular dudes who make a strong wish to attain perfect enlightenment and liberate all sentient beings, but they aren't actually buddhas (might not necessarily attain enlightenment either, although Avalokitesvara did, being a legendary guy and all)
Mosquito is a pest and disease carrier, I always kill it by thinking there is people who saved and there is less mosquito to kill because it's not succeed to breed more mosquito which mean less mosquito killed, and won't damage my karma a lot.

Mosquitoes just want to survive, ive never seen mosquitos DIRECTLY kill a human (diseases are not of their control, but a simbiotic relashionship that perdured).

Some comments below are laughable and also v. judgemental, buddhist or not ,he is showing his humanity. I am not buddhist but i have listened to many of his talks- he is a lovely down to earth man who not only speaks very wise words, but dedicates his life to sharing wisdom and peace...sharing... watch and listen- he talks as opposed to preaching. "Che le sa" or 'Eat my tongue' is a common phrase used by elderly Tibetans to young children - common in the Amdo region where His Holiness is from. It is a playful phrase, NOT used literally, and it means that I have given sweets/candy and hugs and have nothing left to give you, all I have left is my tongue (used to speak my affection for you), so if you want that then eat it. His Holiness often misspeaks phrases in English and corrects himself - my own teacher has been teaching westerners for over 30 years but still has a translator on hand to check with. The other thing to note about this incident is the timing of the press on it - one month after it happened - and it's coincidence with the enthronement in Mongolia of a senior Lama by His Holiness. The Chinese government were behind this story as they wish to control Tibetan Buddhism and resent the Tibetan diaspora led by His Holiness 'interfering' in religious matters either within their borders or in neighbouring countries like Mongolia. Lots of people have fallen for this, just what the Chinese wanted.
I like the story of the Zen monk who was asked about killing mosquitos in his room. He said that he tells the mosquitos they have 10 minutes to leave the room, but if they want to stay that is their choice. Then after 10 mins he sprays the room.
He touched my friend on the shoulder because he had a free tibet tattoo..if he went back to visit he would be able to see the same healers as him. pretty awesome if you ask me! He spent several years in Asia visiting various monasteries. He went to one in Korea too and said it was the most beautiful experience he ever had to meditate and eat/talk with different monks for almost a decade of his life. He has had SO much tragedy in his life yet is 500% positivity regardless of his mood, inspiring.
