Dale Jr races at North Wilkesboro Speedway for the Revival. Here are the Highlights #nascar #dalejr #racing #motorsport #sundrop #chevy #chevrolet #chevroletcamaro
I think any grass roots series would have a break at the halfway point of the race. It's obvious they don't do live pit stop and can't a afford a full pit crew roster. Just look at ARCA East/West, Whelen Modified for example.
@@Blakedecker092 If the race isn't one caution after another then a half-way stop doesn't affect the outcome of the race usually. Back in the day green flag pit stops didn't affect the running order much if everyone made a clean stop. A mid-point stop reduces the chance of someone getting hurt in the pits and spinouts/wrecks from tires giving out.
@@BolognaBurger Dale said the dented rear quarter panel was scuffing the back tire and he couldn't push it any harder. Great race with competitive cars and good driving by everybody.
dale jr is a great ambassador for the sport and i appreciate what hes doing to preserve the history of it. a lot of people dont think he deserves to be in the hof, but he deserves to be in it just for preserving the history of the sport, im proud to be from the same state as him. the guy just loves racing and its infectious.
He absolutely deserves to be in the HOF. He was great for the sport and kept the sport together after his dad died. He won a bunch of races, Awesome plate racer. Absolute GOAT as far as an ambassador to stock car racing period. Not to mention is awesome in the booth as well. You know what his wife Amy says "People love him as much as I do". Imagine what he could have done if he hadn't gotten the brain injuries. We will never know. God Bless Jr and his family!
It's easy to see why. NASCAR lost its appeal to him. Besides the career ending issues, I'm sure Dale got bored of what NASCAR became. This feel more like the roots he grew up in, and he performed very well!
I'm so glad to see this famous racetrack active once again. It pained me to no end to go by there and see it just moldering away, considering it's rich history.
NASCAR should pay attention and see that the mistake they made by abandoning their fans is going to spell their doom. This place was crowded with real stockcar racing fans who haven't forgotten nor forgiven how they were treated. There were more people at this Wilkesboro race than attended the 2020 Brickyard 400. Think about that NASCAR...think about that real hard.
Yes it was a huge Turn out of fans but can they Sustain that amount of people. I am sure Nascar is gonna have to take a look at this and try to send the Truck Series there and eventually Xfinty goes there. Track would need tons of upgrades before Cup would return. I couldn't tell but does this track have the safer walls on every inch of wall. Track needs repave and the Grandstand is small compared to most Nascar cup Tracks. I think the catch Fences need to be replaced. It's much better than it was 5 years ago.
Well to be fair the 2020 Brickyard 400 was during COVID so there was no tickets sold. Just like every other race that year. But for factual reference, the Brickyard this year sold 60k tickets according to the IndyStar. N Wilkesboro last Wednesday was sold out at 18k.
Watched this after listening to Jrs recap. He didn't mention coming out to wave at the crowd at the end. This guy is single handedly driving this tracks rebirth by making it worth it to the locals. So classy of him to acknowledge most everyone was there to see him run.
If Dale Sr was here today , you wouldn’t be able to knock the smile off his face. This is awesome. Hopefully it’s the start of something to bring back the original feel of stock car racing. 👍👍👍✌️✌️✌️
I watched NASCAR all through the 90's and into the mid 2000's religiously, but somewhere along the line the soul of the sport soured, and I haven't watched since Mark Martin retired. Honestly, take these cars, get Jr, Bobby Labonte, Tony Stewart, Morgan Shepard, Dale Jarrett, Ken Schrader, and all the other guys we loved, throw them in these cars, and take them to Bristol, Rockingham, any track at a Maximum a mile, and watch the tracks sell out. Tony Stewarts SRX setup has the right idea, but it's just not quite there, this right here is what would bring me back to watch again.
So cool to see racing at North Wlkesboro again. I’ve seen a lot of great races here back in the day. I hope they can keep this going. Heck Dale Jr. needs to come out and have some fun with the boys!
I'm in awe this is so great! I live in the northwest and we got a good dozen short tracks here. I'm a huge late model fan and this type of racing is so exciting! It's hard to win every weekend! You just never know what's going to happen, and there's no stage racing, no playoffs, it's just a good 125 and 200 laps from green to checker just like the old days. the weight/hp ratio of these cars is perfect! they flipping fly! Nothing better than the smell of vp110 leaded! Kind of reminds me of peppermint 😂 🏁👈😎👍
Because the men in suits would rather sell overpriced tickets to boring cookie cutter 1.5s you can barely see anything at then real down and dirty short tracks.
Awesome Bologna Burger !!! Excellent video and good camera work following the action around the track. It was great to see racing at North Wilkesboro again and to see Dale Jr back in the race car. Looks like all the fans had a fun night. Thanks 😄👍🏁
great camera work !! this was a view from just above my position off turn two, i thought i saw you (mr.burger)out at the sundrop can balloon , i should have stopped in to say hello but the hotdog line had delayed me a bit already was short on time.. glad you made it out.. i drove 679 miles round trip and got a speeding ticket trying to get back in time for work the parking lot was packed and was held a while after the race.. i ended up taking a nap while waiting to get out.. then got the ticket at sunup trying to make up for lost time.. humm as it turns out the court date is oct.6th leading into a three day weekend of dirt nationals.. soooo guess i will have to attend court and take a couple days vacation.. instead of the spur of the moment decision i made this time for the late model race .. but it was worth it!!!.. it was what reminded me of the late seventies shortrack event.. packed... friendly... and well recieved by all.....
Thank You for the video!! I have been to the track for a couple of cup races and the last time I went by the track I never believed there would be racing again. North Carolina Late Models did themselves proud with great racing!!!So happy to see those stands full!!
@@BolognaBurger It looks like momentum is with the track! Best memories were picking up fried chicken at a roadside stand while in traffic, and seeing Ernie Ervin return there after Michigan accident. That was one of many great Nascar memories!!
They should have NEVER left. Sometimes 'seemed like a good idea at the time' just isn't a good enough excuse. This track needs to come ALL the way back and be what it SHOULD have been: A great race at the heart of the sport.
America's grass roots cathedral to speed breathes life once again and the roars can be heard for miles around, as the old ways show they are still around and what was once presumed dead....is still coughing up blood and the toil, sweat and tears of a thousand labours restarts a once forgotten pulse.
Good ol short track racing. I was too young when the track closed it doors in 96 thanks to TMS (I HATE this track). Glad to see it's back. Hope it keeps it's momentum and support growing. I'm putting this track on my bucket list for next year to visit hopefully. Even though I don't know who is what racing at grass roots series other than what title of video was, NOW THIS IS WHAT YOU CALL GREAT RACING!!!!!!!!!!
Kinda of like the Mexican Pizza at Taco Bell . You take it away for a while people crave it and BAM it’s back only difference is it’s Wilkesboro baby . Raise Hell Praise Dale .
I'll add to the good job on the 📷 , not bad . I really think its cool as shit Jr pretty much doesn't want the spotlight. He just wants to enjoy life right now. He wants the regular all season long guys to be recognized and that says so much about who and what Dale Jr is all about. Good dude right there.
Junior at the end of the race was why the fans love him so much. He may not have won, but he took a polish victory lap to thank the fans for coming out.
I believe he had many chances to lead this race more and ryn away with it but one he dont hv to race that hard anymore plus he just wants to hv fun 2 he wants these other guys to enjoy the win🤷♂️😁loved this btw
@@BolognaBurger Mr Burger you are wonderful salute , I know the love of the sport you give in your videos thank you Enjoy ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-q6NskLyMpRc.html old school my friend😂
@@BolognaBurger I can see the pre-race show already. Talking about the history, the great fans, the great racing etc. In other words all the stuff Nascar threw in the trash when they decided to leave in the first place. People always say North Wilkesboro deserves Nascar. Nascar doesn't deserve them.
Those are loud and fast cars. For late models. I use to go to Harold's Restaurant all the time which is down the road from that track if you turn left coming out of it. I got the foot longs.
Packed stands at North Wilkesboro Speedway. Take that NASCAR. North Wilkesboro Speedway is still one of your tracks NASCAR. You neglected it. NORTH WILKESBORO SPEEDWAY IS BACK BABY!!!!!!
It didn’t hurt that Carson Kvapil, former NASCAR driver Travis Kvapil’s son, and the current Jr Motorsports Late Model driver replacing Josh Berry, was driving Dale Jr’s, Jr Motorsports #8 car and won!
@@BolognaBurger I literally looked at their rulebook today. Points system is quite interesting when looking at bonuses along with year end bonus, and earning 2 points if dnq but need to attempt some laps. Looking at engine section, when I saw HMS Enforser, first thought was Hendrick. Googled, turned out it's Harrington's Machine Shop.
@@BolognaBurger if I'm thinking right Geoff lapped the entire field except Terry Labonte and it seems like Earnhardt finished 3rd or fourth 2 laps down .
