Here's a idea (don't know if it has been done yet), what if you are in a Escape room type of location, you have two or three 'companions' with you that you have just met, and there's a screen on the wall depicting a layout of the building and a lone Dalek checking every section, like that one in the Death Zone and you not only have to exit the bit you're in but reach one of three possible ways out, that would be a challenge.
A theory I have that relates to yours is that the Daleks deliberately did this to their own timeline for a Watsonian perspective on this, be it under the command of the Dalek Emperor or the Dalek Time Controller/Time Strategist, to galvanize themselves for the Time War and to prevent themselves from being easy targets for future Time Lord intervention such as the events of Genesis of the Daleks. It might also be a thing particularly powerful time-active races do, because now the Time Lords have something similar with Rassilon vs Tecteun, not to mention the Faction Paradox stuff and the War in Heaven. With such a fragmented and unstable timeline, it might help them survive temporal incursions by factions like the Celestial Intervention Agency or other such powers from being eradicated from history, knowing that even if some branch of them is stopped, all these other alternates will go on. It also makes them hard to fight when even their history is such a self-contradictory and confusing mess, what do you even target and how do you know hitting that selected target will produce the effects you want?
100% agree on the timeline thing, I have a theory that the 'Dal' Timeline was the original and it was, for whatever reason invaded by and fused with the 'Kaled' Daleks timeline.
I would love to see Daleks in survival horror. It can give them a whole new dimension of terror. Making them more scary in an interactive medium like a video game. I have a question for you. Do you think the Dalek mutant has been over exposed since New Who? You see glimpses of the mutant in the original series and they change their appearance over the stories. Do you think the mutant should be redesigned and kept in the shadows like in the First Doctor era and give them that mystery again?
For some reason the most I've ever been scared of a game even as an adult is when I'm being chased by Daleks, because they always kill you instantly and you can almost never fight back
I didn't like renaissance of the daleks too. I find the killer toy daleks stupid and gave brotherhood of the daleks a run for its money in confusing story. The only thing I kinda liked was the Tardis had the zero room rebuilt
Going off of the Survive against the Daleks horror game, (warning text Thesis inbound ;p) Have it be set in a Mine that the Daleks are trying to claim for its resources, because you are in the mine that the Daleks cannot pinpoint detect you because of the minerals in the walls ( a way to explain why the Daleks cannot just pick you up on the scanners around the corner), they know you are there and alive but they have to hunt you down in a maze of tunnels that you know well (hence why you would have an in game map). You cannot directly kill or even fight back against the Daleks but you can cause "Accidents" use a big bit of mining equipment to smash one but once you have done it the Daleks will destroy all of the other drills to stop you pulling the same trick twice. Could be that the endgame is to set the mine to self destruct in a (if we cannot have it the Daleks will not have it either) last ditch effort, maybe even a last minute save from the Dr, or maybe it is a multiple choice ending game where if you play nice with some other survivors the Drs is able to save you (Good Ending) . But if you show yourself to be worse than the Daleks you fail to blow up the mine as the Daleks where able to divide and conqueror with no survivors to distract them and undo all your efforts, Exterminate you and claim the mine as theirs (Bad Ending).
Though it may not be the best use of the Daleks, I agree that they'd be best if the player was at their mercy, I really would like a first-person shooter game involving the Daleks. Maybe something a bit like the 2010 Aliens vs Predator game where each faction has a campaign, like you could play as a UNIT soldier and fight the Daleks, or play as the Daleks and fight UNIT or perhaps something more challenging. And like, I'd love some kind of mass multiplayer mode where the Daleks are a playable faction and have different classes to choose from, like standard Dalek to fight like a rifleman, an Eve executioner being like a machine gunner and the Special Weapons Dalek. Though it gives me a headache just to think of the balancing needed for the different team factions to stop the Dalek faction wiping the floor with other players.
I feel like you could grab a faction of cyberman and a faction of daleks and have them be pretty equal to pitting. On which version did you grab Yeah, the pepper pots wiped the floor with the tin men in doomsday. But that was time war daleks Is versus pete's world cybermen Nucular bomb versus Coughing baby
Great video as all ways. I never thought about a survival horror game that would be great! Could work with cybermen too. Russell liked my post about a hogwarts legacy style game being made for doctor who so im praying its a sign foolishly. Regarding head cannon ive all ways liked the idea of the first dalek story being in fact the last chapter for the daleks but as mentioned its such a re written mess that i dont know if it could work.
The canon will change, lore will always stay the same, just with different variations There is a slight distinction between lore and canon - the former is worth cataloguing but the latter is not
@@59rlmccormack Lore is the pre-established in-universe history of a franchise, canon is an arbitrary real-world system for cataloguing installments of a franchise
Question Do you think the daleks will be popular in America for people who don’t know what they are or do you think they will be as popular as any other doctor who villain to them
You make a compelling point at the start, say where did this animation here 0:58 come from again! It's certainly familiar but I can quite put a name to it!
I have a question I would like you to answer. Do you think Shadowcat from the X-Men franchise can phase through a Dalek? If so, could that destroy the Dalek?
You forgot the discord link. Edit: also I wanted to ask if you think the Daleks could beat the Shadows & Vorlons from the Babylon 5 universe. As they are the strongest races in their respective universe with one of them only being able to be harmed with the use of Telepaths which I don't think the daleks have ever had.
