Dali Epikore 11 - High-End Munich 2023

I don‘t think they are overpriced. I own Epicons and I will upgrade to the Epikore 11. I‘ve heard the speakers in Munich and they sound nearly as good as the Kore. Example: B&W 801 D4 costs 38000€, Focal Scala Utopia Evo costs 40000€ and the Epikore 11 is in my opinion way better in the same price range.

@@MrS1RR I have Opticon 8 MK2. They cost less than 3000€ and sound absolutely satisfying. They are even heavier than the Epicons. No other speaker can beat them in price/quality ratio. Of course Epikore will sound better but not 20 times better. And it is questionable is it worth that price difference for a couple of herz lower and some watts more.

@@nickolaymiltenov What do you mean with heavier? Opticon 8MK2: 34kg each Epicon 8: 47,5kg - even the smaller Epicon 6 is with 30kg nearly as heavy as the Opticon 8MK2. Ofcourse no speaker sounds 20 times better than yours, but it‘s normal that a little more costs multiple times more money. And in the pricerange of 40k they are absolutely stunning. By the way: Opticon 8MK2 is 3600€ and the Epikore 11 is 40000€ so it‘s „only“ factor 11,111.

@@MrS1RR Yes, i meant Epicon 6. They are the second model in a higher product line and i never heard them, but considering specifications i think they offer significantly less than the first model of Opticons, though they cost exactly three times more. Regarding price, i don't know where do you take information from, but i paid for my speakers exactly 2930 euro with delivery from Germany. And if you insist on that more expansive models are not overpriced, well, in such case you will have to confess that mine are highly underpriced. It is up to you what to choose, but should be only one. There are not two truths. 😉

There's no overpricing within DALI. You have to realise that these speakers are not made for people who are satisfied with Opticon 8. That's why DALI makes speakers ranging from Spektor to KORE. The same principles are applied to the most basic speakers that DALI makes as the most expensive ones, but the difference in price accounts for the difference in limitations to reach those principles. If you think 40.000 euro speakers are overpriced they are obviously not for you, but I can assure you that there will be plenty of customers who are interested in these. In price range they are similar to the B&W 801 for example, which offers awesome techniques of its own, but I can assure you they will sound very different from the DALI.
