DALLAS' INSANE CITY OF THE FUTURE IN 2030!
Hello and Welcome Back To my Channel Future Planet, Where we discuss all things Future !
Dallas has had many iterations since its inception. Initially a trading center that was incorporated a few years before the Republic of Texas was annexed by the United States of America, the city steadily grew into one of the wealthiest and innovative areas in the state of Texas. Be it as leader in the cotton trade business towards the end of the 19th century, or as the center of America’s petroleum market following the discovery of oil in the 1930’s or even as a major manufacturing center for automobile vehicles and war-crafts during World War II, Dallas has always been a vibrant and productive community that eventually grew into one of the largest and most populous cities in the country.

I moved to Dallas as a kid and always admired the continuous growth and development like it never stops. It’s clearly paying off as now everyone is moving there. A great city everyone should visit it’s nothing like you think 👏🏽

I'm from Dallas...and I remember the iconic buildings from the 60's and 70's...Like the Republic Bank Building...With a a rocket ship on top...And the Magnolia Building...With the Mobil Red Pegasus spinning on top...The Southland Life Building...Thanksgiving square tower...H.L. Green's...and Reunion Tower...This was Dallas before much bigger buildings took over and clouded the historic skyline...

I agree we need to consider switching to nuclear as a back bone to the energy grid, and thus offset coal. Use Solar and wind where it makes the most sense to do. And ensure improvements to building insulation and enclosures to minimize energy losses.

So, -No plans to lower the amount of cars in the city, and to make it bikeable and walkable. -No plans to build affordable housing close by and reduce sprawl. -No plans to put smaller commercial centers in the city. -No plans to move to renewables for energy. -No plans to reduce the amount of dark impermeable surfaces with vegetation. Just slap the buzz word "green" on buildings and business as usual.

@BenriBea
@BenriBea Год назад
car dependency's a bitch
@XX2Media
@XX2Media Год назад
This is why mass transit infrastructure is ESSENTIAL to proper sustainable growth in the coming decades. Becoming car dependent has been an absolute nightmare for the existing traffic and pollution issues in the city. Investing in mass transit allows those massive freeways to be less crowded and handle a larger population in the future. Dallas is also starting to build parts of the city over existing freeways, i.e. Klyde Warren Park, more deck parks on the I-30 corridor, and a huge chunk of the new multi-billion dollar Convention Center will be built on top of the entrance into the Mixmaster. A lot of new initiatives in mass transit would only bolster the effect of these improvements. DART has a great future plan to interconnect the existing light rail lines together in a similar wagon wheel pattern to the interstate system. It just needs further investment to achieve these plans.

Invest in public transit, improve walkability, bikeability, and stop building so many parking lots. Make nice outdoor spaces that people actually want to be in by planting trees to provide shade during the hot summer months. And for the love of god don't build another fucking strip mall. Dallas is an armpit.

Dallas is an armpit. Outrageously expensive, crime ridden, horrible traffic, poor public transportation, no affordable rentals and a gridlocked, embattled city council.
