Sadly, when Larry Hagman passed. The reboot (not matter how good it was) died with him. The writers managed to keep the show afloat by using his death as a storyline. But the writers jumped the shark again when they wrote off Bobby's son, Christopher.

The writers were smart when they directed Bobby and JR to go bass fishing at the water tank instead of a lake or pond on the Southfork Ranch. Reason why? Since it is a cattle grazing ranch, the lakes and ponds on the property would be heavily contaminated with the manure from the cattle. As a kid when I lived in the Silicon Valley region of California a half-century ago, Felt Lake on the Stanford property had some great fishing, but, the property was also leased for cattle grazing. The rain runoff with the manure, and the cattle both drinking from the lake and using it as a toilet, made the caught fish in that lake uneatable.

I'm very glad that they made a new Dallas and they had another conflict as old men

awesome scenes except where Cliff actually says his name to JR like he wouldn't remember him lol.

lostNxbox29 yeah I hate that. I feel like it’s some way to let the new audience know who he is but man is it clunky.

It was condescension. Implying that JR was too old/senile to remember.

Cliff was being rude, as in 'I bet you're too old and forgetful to even know who I am'

@@nudisco300 it was probably more laziness on Cynthia Cidre's part like how when the first episode comes on it actually says Southfork Ranch Dallas TX. She had no love for the show at all. I would have liked to see what Ryan Murphy or Vince Gilligan would have done with Dallas

@@LordTalaxmaybe 🤔 that was just an act in the script on both halfs of the actors.

I guess we have to assume that in the Dallas universe of 2021, Cliff Barnes has passed away also. JR didn't get to dance on Cliff's grave after all, but they can continue that feud now, throughout eternity! With Digger, Jock, Miss Ellie and Pam cheering them on.
