Christopher corners Dr Gordon and is forced to break the silence Ciff made them to. He tells hat happened to his mother after her terrible car accident in may 1987. Dallas (c) TNT Original aired: April, 2013 Season 3
I loved Pam , Donna, Sue Ellen. The new Dallas was never the same as the original. In the new Dallas Sue Ellen did not have her friends that she could talk to. In the original she always asked Pam or Donna for advice. Pam should have had a funeral in the 1987 - 1988 season. It is hard to watch the new Dallas without Ray and Donna, they were both such a big part of Dallas.
The new Dallas, I admit, i like parts of it, but it just isn't true to the original series. For example, where was James? And John Ross, as cocky as he was, and so much wanted to emulate JR, Bobby should've reminded him of how he came an eyelash from being murdered in cold blood by BD Calhoun, that mercenary JR hired and double crossed. There are several inconsistencies.
Sue Ellen wasn't married to Jr anymore so she didn't need her friends anymore to vent to. When she was married she was miserable. That's why she became an alcoholic. She talks to Ann all the time. Sue Ellen is single now but she's free and she's her own woman.
@@countryexplorerlady916 no, they are biologically first cousins. Sue Ellen's sister, Kristin, is Christopher's mother. John Ross is Chris' cousin. JR is NOT Christopher's father, Mark Shepard was.
It was a tease when they mentioned Katherine. Made me think she may have showed up in that or future seasons. Morgan Brittany said in an interview shed play the role again if asked but of course no one approached her.
I remember after the accident , Christopher wanted to see Pamela . So much so that he went to the hospital on his own . This completely ties into that . It's no longer TNT Dallas ., It's old Dallas all over again .
They should've killed Pam off in 1988 because realistically, there was no way that she would've survived that explosion. However, Michelle Michaels, who played the role briefly, would've probably been a good replacement because she looked similar to Victoria Principal. Cliff loved Christopher, so he would've had the heart to tell Bobby that Pam died years ago but they probably would've had to still fight him to get her shares if this show had gone with the actual continuity of the original and the movies.
Margaret Michaels was the new Pam for an episode. After the Bobby coming back from the dead dream debacle, they didn’t have the balls to kill Pam off in the CBS version. She should’ve just left town when Principal left. The TNT version was a travesty. Cliff wasn’t the psycho in the latter seasons of CBS version as they portrayed him on the new version. The less said about it the better.
Did they ever address that Christopher was really Kristen's baby, and Sue Ellen's nephew by blood? Kind of ironic that Christopher and John Ross really WERE first cousins, just not the way they thought.
I will never forgive Cliff Barnes for what he did to Christopher, his own nephew-not telling him that his mother, Pamela, died, and kept Christopher’s inheritance of his mother’s share of Barnes Global. I think Cliff learned a few tricks from JR. Thank God Christopher has his father, Bobby, stepmother Ann, who was more of a mother to him, Aunt Sue Ellen, & cousin John Ross.
This all retconned B.S. There was no Barnes Global in the original series. There Barnes-Wentworth Oil, Wentworth Industries and Wentworth Tool & Dye. Rebecca left Barnes-Wentworth to Cliff but he sold it in the original series. Wentworth Industries was a public traded company and Rebecca left her shares to Pam and Katherine. Wentworth Tool & Dye was the company that Rebecca left 1/3 shares to her three children, Cliff, Pam and Katherine, but Cliff sold his 1/3 share to Katherine at the end of season 7
Been wracking my brains as I’m sure I had seen the actor playing Dr Gordon in Dallas before. Realised he was the detective in Season 8 of the original series. When Jenna is accused of her ex husband’s murder, the actor Sam Anderson plays Detective Frank Howard who is leading the investigation. Memorable scene in the interrogation with the hitman. The original Dr Gordon appears in Season 12 and he was played by the actor who originally had the role of being the model agency boss trying to find the Valentine Girl for Sue Ellen in Season 10. In Dallas, every actor is interchangeable!
The Dr’s story is the writers revising the history! I remember a look-a-like actress was brought in to finish telling the story of Pam back in the late ‘80s early ‘90s. Cliff visited her and she sent him away. I think she’d already received plastic surgery and she asked the Dr not to reveal the real reason she didn’t want to return to Dallas.
Leaving Southfork for vanity reasons was not a believable reason considering Pam's character. Lazy exit storyline for the writers then. Also, there was no reason not to bring her back on the continuation. Even if it was a recast. They had a chance to redeem that character
I could never understand why Victoria Principal wouldn’t reprise this role…this role created her for her fans. This may have been the thing this series needed.
maybe she didnt want to be in the spotlight again after so many facelift surgerys...people talk a lot and she had a anti aging skincare line this could have harmed her company.
She was treated very badly by the creators of Dallas, she felt the writing and the show had gone down hill, she also wanted a life outside of acting, she started her own cosmetic company
@@Greg-re7nj it had nothing to do with Bobby and Pam love story, Victoria was moving on to bigger and better things, she started her own cosmetic company
That reboot was a betrayal in many ways, I do agree 100%. But, let's be honest, within 20 years ( 1991 => 2012) a lot of things might have happened. A thousand things. Have a look back to your own life 20 years ago and check how much it has nothing to do with your present one. (And you're not a soap's character...) The show ran for 14 seasons (much less time than the hiatus between the Conondrum and the reboot) and characters changed quite a lot from episode 1. Just look at Sue Ellen. The desperate and weak drunk wife turned into a strong business woman. Cliff never stopped being a selfish an insensitive jerk. He hardly cared about anybody. I'm not so surprised he turned into that self obsessed psycho when he got old... 20 years is a century for Dallas and I'm ok to accept anything. A 28 episodes season of the show was more dramatic and soapy than anybody's life. I just wish Cynthia Cidre did care to fill some very big plot holes and payed a little more respect to old fans, who where the last one to keep singing while the show was sinking.
They messed up a lot especially by J.R. gravestone saying the only deal he lost which the only way to say that is include the movies because in the Movies JR came back and destroyed Carter McKay
@@will_it_work She let Bobby control the stock after the divorced. That's why JR brought Lisa Alden into the picture, to manipulate Bobby into investing his Wentworth stock into Westar for JRs planned takeover.
@@will_it_work Since we now know that Pam had died 24 years ago and left her 1/3 share of Barnes Global to her son Christopher. But since Christopher was a minor at the time (he was 7), his father, according to the laws in the state of Texas, would've been Christopher's proxy until he reached his majority.
Once they created the far-fetched story of the dream season, this show was forever downhill, especially since "Knots Landing" never addressed it but did address Bobby dying. Then to have Victoria Principal leave, it was a steady decline.
The last really good season was season 7, 1984-85. Even after Pam woke up, it had a different "feel". Glad they finally explained what happened to Pam, and it actually was the same story they told in 1988, when Cliff found her in Canada.
This episode was amazing.....for a split second we thought we were going to see Victoria Principal return to the show as Pam only to found out she died (before the original series even ended in 1989).
I would have done it this way because Pam was missed by the fans : Christopher finds his mom in Abu Dhabi (replaced by another actress) believing she abandoned her son and husband. Pam explains she did go back to Dallas but saw a scene Bobby,Ann and Christopher happy together. Pam leaves Dallas forever believing they moved on. Christopher brings his mom back to Dallas to talk it out. Ann is suspicious but let them talk. Pam apoligises to Bobby for running away but could not confront her husband and little boy with her injuries. Pam is glad that Ann is a good wife and good mother to Christopher. She and Pam hug it out. Bobby agrees to stay friends with Pam. All this time Pam had contact with Cliff but made him promise to never say a word about it. Now all is made public, Christopher and Cliff can visit Pam whenever they want. Pam finds her passion in Abu Dhabi. She is the principal of burn victims hospital.
@@soapsguy2265 Wentworth Industries was a publicly traded company. Barnes-Wentworth Oil (formerly Wade Luce Oil) was owned by Cliff but he sold it in the original at the beginning of season 12 and became partners with Bobby in Ewing Oil
Exactly! This is when I stopped watching the reboot! Bobbie loved Pam and I thought the coldness of Bobby in this scene was disgusting! Never watched it after this! Horrible way to tie up this story line!
After the accident, Pam wrote a letter to Bobby, after she saw herself in a mirror - she was very burned & didn't want to scare Christopher. That's why she ran from Dallas.
The Dallas reboot was so good it was a shame that it got cancelled. The show should have been great for years.Like Animal Kingdom on TNT,Dallas could have lasted. Maybe it will be back one day. I sure hope so!
JR was always right about Pamela. The hurt she caused her son twice now. Christopher would’ve been able to live with the fact that she was in an accident that eventually killed her. Instead, she misleads Bobby and him and causes more pain. JR say what you want about him, but he was right about Pamela.
I agree. Cliff, at the very least, should have told Christopher of his mother’s death. Instead he hides it from his own nephew because Christopher carries the Ewing name. Cliff Barnes is a real snake. At least Christopher has his father, Bobby, stepmother Ann, Aunt Sue Ellen, and cousin John Ross.
Rocky Racoon I’ve always known that J.R. Ewing was a sneaky snake since the original series. It was J.R & Cliff who kept the Barnes/Ewing feud going after the deaths of Jock & Digger.
Another waste was not asking Morgan Brittney back. She made it clear it tow interviews id seen shes play Katherine again. This was THE one woman who was JRs equel when written right and without JR the show needed a villan. Katherine could have showed up richer then cliff, taken over Ewing Global and ran things. Plus her still infatuation with Bobby could have caused a strain on his and Annes mairage. Again, many missed opportunities!
Yes!!! It would have made more sense that Pamela Rebecca was her daughter instead of Cliff and Aftons. So much potential there. Why not bring in Ray and Donnas daughter Margret... Donna, ex Senators wife ....
When I watched this the first time around, I thought it was a total let down, at least they should have recast Pam, however, I've been revisiting Dallas and at least this does tie in with the original exit storyline, even Doctor Gordon was in Pam Ewing Mark 2's final scene back in the old Dallas, so at least it followed on properly.
Cynthia Cidre destroyed new Dallas ! Pam should back in revival and that be full circle close on this reboot.Only Cidre wasn't too happy to see Victoria on show and offer was to shameful for star of her size
Cliff Barnes didn’t have the brains to know how to steal candy from a baby. How in the hell could he pull that off. Didn’t these producers watch the original Dallas?
Truth of the matter that Pam is not Christopher's biological mother. They didn't mention to him that Kristin was his biological mother and Jeff Faraday, not Bobby was actually his real father!
It was established in the original series that Kristen and Jeff were Christopher's parents. Pam and Bobby told Christopher the truth about his adoption.
It was mentioned By Cliff that Katherine had since died ,so though she didn't die onscreen at some point off screen after her last appearance on the original show and before the revival series , Katherine was said to have died .
@@joeyagretti3510 Yes but she was one of the more important secondary characters so an explanation probably shouldve been in order but then again on the revival we SEE Ray and Lucy but have no earthly idea what they've been up to......who they're married to or anything. When they brought back Afton.....Pam's mother and Cliff's former girl,.....Audrey Landers nailed it...We see JR's 2nd wife Callie at his wake but no mention of his KID! The longtime fans deserved more explanation but I think their goal was to limit the number of principal characters.
What is funny is that John Ross and Christopher outwardly pretend they are cousins through their fathers, but they are actually cousins through their mothers.
This was the episode where the entire audience including ME was certain Victoria Principal was going to appear somewhere. Waited and waited. Her name (Pam)had been dropped SO many times in this season it wasnt funny. At this point even a recast for me personally would have worked just to have the character back. This was a let down. Still unclear if Principal was even asked or no to appear but i guess it wouldnt have mattered since she made it clear she wasnt interested in doing so.
I thought I read somewhere the writers/producers were told not even ask Victoria. But in a interview around that time Victoria said as nicely as possible and in other words, no.
It would be nice to know who else was asked back besides Priscilla Presley. Who else said yes or no. Not even sure Susan Howard was interested? Is she retired? We know Morgan Brittany wanted to do it. Steve Kanaly and Ken Kercheval didn't want to do it full time.
Yes, I thought I read that Victoria said she wanted to leave Pam character as it was and she not return. I could be mistaken though. I didn't watch this reboot much at all only a few episodes. For me the original Dallas was "Dallas".
So do I. Pamela was the conscious of the Barnes clan. I am sure that if she had lived that, for Christopher's sake, that she would have had helped Bobby, Sue Ellen, John Ross, and Christopher take down her brother, Cliff, and Ann Ewing's ex-husband.
What a ridiculous storyline🤢 Dallas began with Bobby and Pam, they were the "point" of the show and their relationship was epic and the reboot shows a cold, distant Bobby and a Pam that would keep contact with Cliff and not Bobby🙄 or Christopher...knowing how much she loved them and how much the three of them fought to be together! Crappy writers, horrible ending for an amazing character👎🏻 Thank you, Victoria Principal, for being an epic Pam!
Bobby shud feel upset when he knows that Pam died after she Dallas & she keep distance coz she going to die..What kind of storyline not link with the epic Dallas 🤔
Mark Guerrero no she didn’t. She was never asked. Her actions on the original show stopped any chance of her appearing apparently. Not a popular cast member!
Could you imagine Bobby Ewing on a random blind date? Blind date: Soooo, tell me more about you. Bobby: Well, I have lived in the same house for 65 years, and most of the time it was with the same family. I have two brothers and one half brother. One brother is an alcoholic who was a drifter because he wanted to run away from my megalomaniac, narcissist brother. The half brother was from my Daddy’s first marriage that we never knew about, and you could only imagine the awkwardness from my niece, yes, she lived there too, when she had an affair with her uncle. As far as marriages, I’ve had two. One died in a painful burning car crash after she announced she was pregnant, and the other died after being shot by terrorists in Paris. Anyway, tell me more about you. Date: Ummmm, I’ll be right back, I have to go to the bathroom
They are all so concerned about Christopher. What about Bobby? He had still loved his wife when she died, didn't he? Before the fake letter that she wrote if not planning to return.
Barnes Global didn't exist in the original. It was retconned for this series. Barnes-Wentworth Oil was owned by Cliff 100% but he sold it at the beginning of season 12, then entered into a partnership with Bobby at Ewing Oil.
Such a disgrace what they did to a wonderful complex character, it started out on the original show when Victoria left and then to claim Pamela died of cancer, lazy writing, thank God Victoria left and never came back
Poor Poor Pamela! Cliff is a bastard. Bobby knew Pamela more than anyone, I think deep down he knew she was dead the whole time, because the wife he knew would never stay away from him and Christopher for 24 years, hence his remark to Suellen about how he'd mourned Pamela a long time ago.
The reboot ruined Cliff. In the original he was not as evil, had shreds of decency. No way would Cliff act like that. Thus reboot made him into the evil bast*rd he was not.
Pam had seen herself in private when she was able to wake up. She looked hideous. She didn't want anyone to see her like that. That is why she had decided to leave the hospital, & Bobby & Christopher. She didn't want to scare anyone. 😢
@@wendyrichmond1755 Cliff, is a bastard because he allowed Christopher, to spend 24 years of life believing that his mother had abandoned him. He committed such a dick move, because he knew that Christopher, stood to inherit 1/3 of Barnes Global upon his. Mother's death.
This is honestly the only thing that Cynthia Cidre did on this show was right. All of that stuff. Pam was dying. The auto accident. The surgeon trying to repair her face. The 1/3 shares of Barnes Global, all of that was legit. John Ross and Pamela found Christopher’s mothers birth certificate. JR was looking into it. That’s the final piece. Overall, I wish she could have done as good a job on everything else as she did on this though.
I remember the look-a-like actress they brought in to finish telling Pam’s story. But when Cliff found her, she wasn’t too hideous to be seen. She was ill tho, and kept it secret from everyone on Dallas. The Dr. kept her secret. She never told Cliff.
This was soooo ridiculous. The mystery was NOT solved. Pam did not die in 1989. Cliff was on great terms with the Ewing family then. Pam was NOT born in 1950. Her mother was VERY clearly carrying her after election day in 1952. And all of this is just to stick it to VP. All they had to do was have Margaret michaels come on to play Pam or they could have had her sick but alive off camera. There was NO reason to put the viewers thru this stupid, wild goose chase because Hollywood is pissed off at Victoria Principal. They have been trying to make her character meaningless since the opening of 1987-88. Why CAN'T Michaels play Pam at this point???
I am so sick of them doing this to us when it comes to Pam they've been doing this since the original series is Pam dead is Pam alive please could you stop that
They should of do like most stories (face change) new character !!! Pam should of came back but this reboot of Dallas was great however (TNT) SHOULD of been on a more popular network
After this Show got canceled I consider it not cannon....Pam and Christopher are not dead in my books,Pam returned in 1991 off screen when the show ended.
