I know convicted felons in Texas at least are not even allowed, with the new lenient laws that have been passed about stand your ground right to carry, felons can't own a gun until 5 years after they've been released from prison and off parole or any kind of paper such as probation....and even then, they can only possess a gun at their home to protect them at home! They can't carry it with a anywhere. So I know for sure that in Dallas/ FTW, both of them weren't even supposed to be associating with one another bc they were both felons ( but that's kinda impossible once they are convicts)....neither one of them could legally handle a gun, possess a gun, or own a gun. So I'm pretty sure that's how she skated on charges. If you noticed by her testimony, she was not exactly that forthcoming...having to be prompted by the attorneys, ...I bet they got her to testify against him by using her background and the fact that she knew that gun was there and had been around it as long as she was with him.

My thoughts exactly! What kind of medicine did she buy from the nurse? I’ve never heard of a hospital charging a patient for medication while admitted to the hospital. They usually charge your insurance. There is NEVER an exchange of money for medication.

I feel that she did a beautiful job of articulating the events of that horrific day during a time that should have been one of the happiest moments of her life... the birth of her son. This lovely young lady came prepared for her day in court, was respectful to the court officers, and handled the entire situation like a boss. Some of you could take notes on how to conduct yourselves in a formal setting because I can tell by your comments that many of you are too foolish to grasp the level of complexity of this tragic situation. She was not killed, but she will never be the same again. Her son will one day learn that his birth precipitated a chain of horrific events that will scar him for life. Another senseless cowardly act of gun violence that had it been controlled, innocent lives could have been spared. Texas encourages gun violence so this tragedy is just the tip of the iceberg.

Please remember she has been in the court system for crimes of her own. Also, of course, she is in a conducted behavior she's in a courtroom, and in her staments, she tried to answer carefully because she also participated in protecting her ex by hiding the gun. What do you expect hospitals to have armed security & medal detectors likes schools & courthouses? I work at hospital chain that actual has police substation attached as well as armed security at all it's hospitals & yet this type of thing happens all the time people usually gang members & certainly criminals bringing in guns or knifes & going off. Most of the time it doesn't amount to injuries or death but it happens almost daily because people are nuts & the last few years certainly havent helped but aren't excuses for idiots like Nestor. DV happens all the time & is traumatic. THose including the defense lawyer trying to claim not only that she had something to do with him going nuts let alone somehow could have stopped it is beyond insane & offensive but not remotely surprising. yesterday a gang member was in a hospital with his gf who was pregnant he brought a gun with him being a gang member & found out one of his family members was also there & found out that the other family member his mother I believe was diagnosed with cancer or something serious & he pulled his gun out & threatened the doctor for the bad news was chased out the hospital into the parking lot where he fired 2 shots towards the hospital before stealing a car & trying to drive off. Last week the same hospital had a suspected gang member arrested & in the hospital for being shot & he escaped when the guard went to use the bathroom in the hospital room the suspect was in. The suspect escaped got losts in the parking lot & disappeared he's still running around the hills. What do you want hospitals to do.

He deserved everything he got from being shot to death row. I'm not saying they didnt have issues & that she might not have always been perfect or an angel who is every perfect or angels in humanity but particularly in this case I've never seen or heard anything or anyone back up anything he says.
