Dallas is a hub for air travel ; Houston is a hub for cuise ships out of the port of Galveston. Dallas is finance and communication;Houston is bio tech, research and medicine. Houston has two of the top ten largest HBCU’s; Dallas has a small UNCF private HBCU. Two airlines are based out of DFW;Houston is the hub for NASA and the oil industry. Whereas “the culture” is accessible in both cities, black culture has been more assimilated into the overall metro area Houston culture and embraced by all cultures. The hip hop scene in Houston is far more evolved than in Dallas. Houston appears to be more of a melting pot and is certainly more diverse, Dallas appears to be more of a mosaic with less intermingling of cultures. Dallas appears more reserved whereas as Houston more friendly, talkative and fun loving. Night life is a 7 day a week thing in Houston. Dallas seems to be more of a weekend town when it comes to nite life. The performing and visual arts, sports and high end shopping are well represented in both.

I’m team Dallas all day, but I gotta correct you on one thing. Houston can’t be a mini Atlanta as it’s the 4th largest city in the US. If you put metro Atlanta in Texas, it would be the 7th largest city and 3rd largest metro. Both Houston and Dallas are both larger cities and metros. I lived in Atlanta for over 10 years. A lot of people don’t realize this. You would have to put Birmingham, Al next to Atlanta to get DFW.

Here is how I break it down. If you have a college degree in Business then Dallas is where you should be at. If you have an structural or aerospace engineering degree or chemical engineer then Houston. If only have a high school diploma or are a dropout then Houston. (We have a lot of construction jobs in the refineries that pay well and you could make 100k), Doctors should move to Houston. I do think that Dallas is more educated than Houston. Houston is more blue collar. Dallas is also better if you're into marketing, advertising and sales. Dallas also has more tech jobs.

Dallas is not more diverse than Houston...not by the numbers, restaurants, festivals, etc. Go to a Rangers and Mavs game and youll see nothing but white faces in the audience. That doesn't happen at Astros and Rockets games where you see white, Latino, Black, Chinese, Vietnamese, Filipino, etc. Black entrepreneurs also do better in Houston and the numbers back it up. Black folks in Dallas hardly have any businesses or spaces within Dallas proper. Black restaurants, clubs, and bars? HBCUs? Civil Rights Organizations (Dallas Urban League shut down over fraud)? Black political leaders? Various industries (Healthcare, Oil and Gas, Construction, Logistics, Port of Houston, Tech (which is growing at the fastest rate because of Houston Med Center), Aerospace, Finance, Entertainment, Food Service, Education, etc)? Cost of living and business operation? These are all things that aid Black businesses and Houston blows Dallas out the water in all areas and the data backs it up. Dallas's issue is that it's still very white and everyone else gets pushed to the side. Its made progress, but its still number 2 in the state. Black folks making videos saying DFW is better for Blacks are transplants who don't know any better and don't look at data that can be found in a Google search. Not to mention living in both cities will quickly show someone all of the above.

All the Dallas haters from Houston sound alike. You're already the bigger city, but clearly you're jealous about what's going on in Dallas, worried little ole Dallas is going to take some of Houston's shine. You sound like the 15 year old child trying to prove he's better than the 8 year old child to mama. Houston shouldn't have to berate Dallas and waste time trying to prove itself. If it's that much greater the people can figure it out for themselves.

💯 OMG you are absolutely right!! I'm in HR too and the job market in Dallas is terrible!! This is NOT the Dallas that once was that's for sure!
Год назад
@@23krdavis so what is your solution because right now everyone is saying that about almost every state. Thank you for watching. God bless you. Thank you for watching.
@23krdavis
@23krdavis Год назад
@ my solution is what's best for me which is to relocate out of Texas which I will be soon. Every state has it's pros and cons, it's just a matter of what you are willing to deal with. In years past, Texas has always been labeled as the "go to" state because of the lower cost of living, more bang for your buck, and the abundance of work opportunities. That is just not the case anymore and unfortunately for many of us we've had to learn the hard way when choosing to come here. Every state looses power, but the power grid issues here is pure nuts. The grid system simply can't accommodate the amount of people living here at this point. The rolling power outages is ridiculous to say the least. The lower cost of living is definitely out of the window unless you sacrifice space and safety and the commute can be pretty long as most have to live a fairly good distance away from their jobs in order to find that somewhat cheaper cost of living with decent square footage and safer living communities. If the 1 bedroom 800 sq ft apt floats your boat then go for it, but for my money I need more space. It's simply not worth it for me. The no state tax thing is also bogus because other things such as the toll ways and property taxes makes not paying that null and void as well. There is no fix for Texas, it's just simply not worth it staying here for me. Again, speaking for myself, I can definitely get more for my money elsewhere.

Honestly when people think of Dallas they think about okay the first thing the JFK assassination they think about the TV show Dallas from the 1980s they think about the little short-lived reality TV shows and country people. Houston on the other hand is a polarizing global mega metropolis with world renowned museums theaters, symphony and the Medical Capital of the world and Energy Capital of the world along with being pioneers of space exploration while Also being more diverse than NYC. DALLAS DROPPED in population rank from #2 to #3 and if Austin keeps up the good work they will surpass them as well. Houston had their Galleria first which by the way is the largest mall in Texas. Next Dallas got theirs thanks to the Houston company Hines who built both malls. Dallas never stands by themselves they always depend on Fort Worth to boost them.
