My grandfather and his brother owned a stained glass studio. I was there most of the time during my childhood because I loved everything going on there. I learned about the whole process. My playground was a giant pile of scrap glass that I would dig around in to find my treasures. I made sculptures with the glass that my grandfather displayed in his office window. I was very proud of that. I even did a design for a beautiful bathroom window in my grandmother's house. It's hard not to fall in love with pretty glass! I loved all the workers there and they were happy to teach me things...they felt like family to me. The studio was world renowned for the church windows they did. My great uncle was the artist and he had an extensive knowledge of the bible. One of my favorite pieces they did was a giant Noah's Ark which was donated to the children's hospital in Fw Tx. The studio was finally sold when everyone got too old to carry on. It was crushing for us all. To this day nearly 30 years later, I have boxes full of my glass treasures. My mother would have liked you, that is the highest compliment that I can give someone. One day when I was little she told me all about how metal can be used to colour glass, and why red glass is so expensive. She dabbled in enamels, stained glass and pottery. This is a great channel, keep up the great work!

My Granddaddy taught me when I was knee high to a ___________ (you pick your word cause Grand’s use a colorful one that not suitable for the public) that a day is wasted that you don’t learn something new. Today I learned something new and very interesting, Thank You and God bless.
A great explanation of a type of stained glass that very few are familiar with. In 1974 I taught traditional stained glass classes for a glass company in Phoenix Arizona that specialized in faceted glass windows for churches. They also did faceted glass panels for doors for houses They were always looking for ways to expand their business. They had an art gallery in Scottsdale where I sold the stained glass terrariums I made. I love your work and your videos. You are an inspiration!

Try Blenko in Milton W.Va. ....aleen you might be able to locate a stained glass business that does the tecnique... I have one that sells me their scraps when I can use small pieces.....
The glass I used came from Blenko in W.Va. You can get billets other places. sometimes I have gone to a Stained glass company that does big windows and bought their scrap. Where do you live?
