im happy to see a lot of comments calling out the information stated in the video. dal is not a good source of protein it has more carbohydrates than it does protein, the protein it does have is also not complete which means it does NOT have all 9 essential amino acids required by our bodies. also no one can eat 100grams of dal in a meal its stupidity to even consider that. milk products are the only vegetarian complete protein source but many people are intolerant to lactose so it isnt possible for them to meet their protein requirements using milk regardless 100grams of milk has 3.2g of protein so you would need to consume 2kilos of milk every day to meet your protein requirements. your body needs meat to survive no matter what the vegans or the plant based diet advocates say. the experiment with vegetarianism in india has failed india has very high rates of type 2 diabetes and other chronic illnesses even though we consume a lot of fresh foods in our lives. countries like the usa are also unhealthy but we can attribute that to the fact that home cooked meals are rare there plus they consume a lot of processed foods like cereals, chips and other snacks but that is not a problem in india, here almost everyone consumes fresh home cooked meals almost everyday of their lives so there has to be something wrong with the foods we prepare. veganism may be good for the earth but it sure as hell aint the best nutrition for your body. do what you will with this information.
Considering an adult needs one gram of protein for bodyweight corrected to BMI of healthy people, if an adult male of 170 cm height and 65 kg bodyweight eats a chicken breast (roughly 170 grams of boneless meat- chicken breast has higher concentration of protein than any other part of protein) that contains 31 grams of protein, at once, he fulfils almost 50% of his daily protein requirement. Each egg of 86 grams contains 4 grams of protein. So if you eat 2 eggs or eggs whites also, you fulfill 15% of your daily protein requirement- a chicken breast and two eggs together meet close to 70% of your daily protein requirement. You can fulfil rest of your daily protein requirement from cereals, lentils, sprouts etc and can get vitamins, minerals etc from vegetables and fruits. Chicken and most fishes do not contain cholesterol in any significant quantity while red meat should be avoided. Obviously rice and whole-wheat have some percentages of protein but they also have high carbohydrate percentage so they can be used in required quantities to meet daily calorie requirements in addition to contributing little bit to protein requirement as well but can not be used as major source of protein as more of their consumption will lead to excess carb intake. But if you switch over to lentils as major source of your daily protein requirement to replace animal protein, you have to consume around 250 grams of mixed lentils everyday. There is huge debate over ill effects versus utility of soyabean and under no circumstances one should consume more than 50 grams of soybean a day regularly or else it might cause hormonal imbalance and can lead to formation of breast in males (gynecomastia). 250 gram of raw lentils when cooked gets huge in quantity and volume compared to a chicken breast soup/syew/curry and two eggs (boiled/omlette/ boiled egg white if you want to avoid cholesterol). How is it possible to consume that much of lentils in a day and every day without having regular gastrointestinal problems? One can not consume that much of lentils in a day even in portions and will invariably suffer from protein deficiency while being misled happily that their bowl of dal meets most of their daily protein requirement.
Many thanks sir, I would like Daal But the acidity in Daal I do prefer kidney bones creat Acidity That’s I stop to use it Thanks again Raj London Uk 🇬🇧
@@wajahathussain7955 , jo protein hota plants ka humans ke liye Kafi hota h usse hamari mussel ko gain hone me madad milti h , Jo protein hota h meat ka chicken ka sahhi me protein ke sath sath colostrol fat bhi jata hota h or dusri bat kisi janvar ki jaan bhi meat khane se jati h, ye proof h duniya m jitne bhi vagtarian h unki age lambi hoti h or Jo meat khate h jaldi mar jate h unko bahut bimari hoti h isliye vagtarian bano meat mat khao kisi ki jaan mat lo ye hamari sanskrati h
We have seen yogis, sadhus, rishi munis live such long lives and are healthy because of vegetarian food, and people who eat non veg food, die early with so many diseases. Clearly vegetarian food is best. Thanks doctor for such good information 🙏
Sprouts are not good for health specifically in heart patients since they cannot afford much oil/ghee and sprouts without tadka in oil\ghee causes vaata imbalance and is harmful for body
These figures are for uncooked dals. No one eat 100 gm of uncooked dal as dals expand 3 to 4 times with water. 100 gms of cooked dal have 5 to 8 gms of protein depending on the dal. For comparison 100 gm of paneer has 21 gm of protein.
This is not completely true I am into strength training thus I measure 100g of dal and boil it and prepare it with minimum amount of water The result I got is that 100g dal cooked becomes 2 katori (150g)x2 of dal which I consume with 100g of rice which gives 7-10g protein depends on variety and I generally use moong which is 25g/100 Now this meal alone gives me 35g protein
Dals are average source of protein. If you are deficient in protein there is no way you can make up for it just by having dals as it also has lots of carbs.
Your overall advices are usually v nice, I'm your regular viewer but when it comes to meat eating your typical indian hinduism reflected thru your words....God bless you.
@@SAAOLHeartCare A reasonable daily intake of animal food is good for health. We should not completely restrict ourselves from this super food. People of Iran, Turkey, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Argentina, Kenya etc etc eat lots of lots of red meat but still they are more healthy than lentil consuming indians. Isn't it true sir?
