You’ve explained this connection before but thanks for a bit more detail. As mentioned before I left the battle grounds and only start for the shadow quests so 3-5 instead of 60 battlegrounds per week. I worked hard on my secondary stats, they are about 2.300-2.500, which is more then lots of players have. Contrary to the Expectation of winning 50% of the battle grounds it is still only 35 to 40% for me which makes it impossible to achieve more than gold-1. It is also noticeable that I am mainly matched as an attacker and regularly lose because of the 65 kills, usually well before the time runs out, often without moving the guards significantly. What I can tell is the waiting time increased lately, when I do my shadow quests. This week I lost 3 out of 4.

I am playing BK and I need a damnage affect to trigger pain clasp so I was using torment and vipers bite. So once I realized I could use an essence to use bats to bite and poison with basic attacks I ditched them and my DPS went through the roof.

When testing on the test dummy in westmarch note that the dummy makes DoT and CC have duration as though you had infinite potency so dummy will drastically overvalue the contribution of DoTs in your tests.

You know it's good when you see graphs.

Dots + banquet = corpses I use that set with vipers bite,torment,lament,pain clasp and that new 1* that increases dot damage, works amazing as a 1500 reso necro in pvp.

Great explanation VK, you cleared lots of my doubts about resistance and potency, i, suffer too much from CC's in PvP, especially wizards continuously freezing me, i stay frozen for eternity, while my CC lasts like 1s on them 😭, Well now I know how screwed I am with my tiny 1.1K potency,1.2K resistance 😂, Well time to replace my critines 😢, Man, the game is scamming, even with 2.8s it takes it as 2s 😮‍💨, well that's the thing which makes resistance strong, so no complaints 😅 Hey vabo , one question?alot of wizards run their freeze build, they don't seem to be affected much by the potency penalty 🤔, can you cover their freeze build? 1. Is vipers bite and seeping bill and everlasting torment good together on a Wizard ? All 3 of em in use ? 2. Something important that you didn’t mention is this DOT from those 3 gems upgraded/affected by the bonuses from set items or from legendary item bonuses like “Increases the duration of your harmful effects by 30%” ? 3. And again for wizard which is the best sets to combine those gems 4 banquet and 4 grace or 4 banquet, 2 grace, 2 feasting ? Because I heard that the Angment was nerfed 😢

Nice work! ⚠️But honestly brother, with much respect and humble offering of my opinion, you really gotta speed this shit up and ditch the computer generated voice. The monotone speech and slow cadence makes it a real conscious effort to watch and only people that are really committed to seeing the full analysis would make it. I am literally lazy farming on my pc right now and i really wanted to scroll on during the video but this topic is constantly in my mind recently since i ditched my bile. So this is just a friendly suggestion from personal experience when coming across your content, which is pretty frequently (as I'm subscribed with notifications to many of the other content creators), but i automatically scroll on when i hear the first word on your videos that pop up on my feed. Now for transparency's sake, I am the most unoriginal person alive, so i can only assume that there are many other potential subscribers that also scroll on. To be fair, the only reason I'm still watching it is because i want to vet it before i post it in my clan's discord to get opinions and establish the level of validity of the data. (Not questioning it at all, in fact it looks highly credible to me, but... DI's coding is littered with occurrences where things are not working as they theoretically should). One should always be open to new information and do their due diligence before reacting to it. Anyways brother keep up the hard work and keep pushing! Just thought id offer some information based on what i know in regards to capturing ones target audience and closing when it comes to successful engagement, social psychological engineering and marketing techniques, emotional captivation tools and subconscious anchors that professional marketing specialists use to build brands and brand awareness. You really don't want people remembering you as the content creator with the annoying voice over, your first potential million subscribers would be more likely to look for the not interested or block button than simply hit subscribe or scroll. If your yt analytics show that your rate of viewers watching the entire video is high, then I humbly apologise and I will sit down and stfu, so if that's the case then disregard.

One major problem is the rounding down, which could cause you to lose one whole tick

@VK I have a doubt. Does the Green set Item for Necro with Damage done by Summons do they really stack or is there any limit to it? And also the Damage done by Summons Reforge Bonus worth it on Necro?

Would you recommend putting cp points into resistance or potency even if you cant get to current tier mark or sink in points into hp?

Totally agree for 90% of the player base should focus resistance and direct damage gems over Dot gems. Shields, shielding, damage reduction, and block chance is way more effective when playing against whales than hitting them for 2 seconds w/ a dot that their higher hp will just absorb!

Excellent video, does this mean that I must have a higher resistance percentage than the opponent but not much higher than the power he has to resist your blows? In short, if my resistance is 10% greater than the opponent's, I can withstand his attacks for longer and if my armor and armor penetration are greater than the opponent's, even if he has 20 or 30% more resonance than me, I can achieve kill my opponent?

in d4 I love my rend build, it lets me hit with my barb and then escape area damage while they drip down. side note. the area damage in d4 is way too strong. area damage shouldn't ever do more damage than the mobs themselves.

As Crusader, I got rid of my Howler's 3/2 for VB and I love it for my build. Am running it at level 7 along with the following: Bile 2/3 Torment 10 (non-awakened) Pain Clasp 7 P&C 7 Hellfire 3/4 Bottled 2/3 Gloom 3/2 2x Grace 2x Vithu's 2x Banquet PVE and dungeons on Inferno 3 are gravy. Got out of the BG PvP cos the whales just whoop my ass. All in all, great review.

viper bite gets more and potent depending on the base damage so its not all that great for low to mid res but if you have 30k+ base damage its very potent

Exactly. DOT is useless to most mobs because they die before the first tick. In PvP, It's resistance vs potency: so DOT is only effective against players weaker than you. So DOT is only really useful against bosses and in challenge rifts.

This was awesome, as a wizard I feel pretty underpowered. I’ve been looking for ways to make tweaks to my gems however the prioritization of dots has always slowed me down. Going to make a full transition to dps + resistance. All or nothing lol

I have a rank 10 everlasting torment on my DH, should I replace it with viper's bite instead?

I suspect this very much translates the same when speaking of control? As a low spender necro I started to invest more on support using control than on damage and life, since I cannot compete with whales in anything that's heavily affected by resonance. I was hoping that since I cannot kill whales I could at least make them dance at my own rhythm. But this video makes me think that my efforts might be useless....? Or did I miss something?

Full disclosure, I'm stopping at about 3 min in to comment. I'll just make some general notes on what you said in those first few minutes. Comparing Viper 100% proc to Bile 4%. When it says your attacks, it means ALL damage that was produced by you. DoT ticks can proc another DoT. So the real chance for Bile to proc on targets is much higher since there are so many chances per second that it's practical uptime is the same as Vipers. Same with Everlasting. It's not equal to your Crit rate. This is Binomial Probability. The chance for something to happen over a certain amount and a length of time. I'm too tired to do the math at 7 am but small percentages with many chances, lets say you had 40 different damage numbers above a target you are hitting with many skills, and all other sources. This means the chance is greater. I think i started not describing this correctly towards the end, I just woke up lol. I will finish the video and come back for discussion of anyone sees this. I don't mind being proven wrong but I've felt with this kind math and probability of something to proc since EverQuest in 1999 and WoW for almost 10 year.

The very first day I started playing the game and saw DM review the legendary gems, I saw Seeping Bile's 4% chance and thought "TRASH!" Fast forward 3 or so months and my first instinct towards Seeping Bile is still "TRASH!" It's ridiculous how many people swear blind oaths and call Seeping Bile "Top 5 gem"...utter lunacy. I understand that it's one of the few activators for Pain Clasp with its massive and continuous damage amp, but how often will that 4% trigger even though it can be "continuous" on weak mobs? This is just a fodder gem imho. In fact, I would rsther use Zwenson and Echoing Shade over Seeping Bile any day. And as fun as Echoing Shade is, its also another trash gem.

They're probably going to nerf vipers to 1% poison chance 🤣😂

This vid was a little hard to follow. Wish you could have summarized (in laymens terms) a bit more in between. So are you saying your other vids with DOT builds aren't the best to utilize or viper's isnt the best Gem to be using? And if that's the case does pain clasp fall in that same realm?

That doesn't sound right based on other video where the guy said, armor and armor pen is not capped for pvp, and big difference can lead in crits being weaker than non-crits

You deserve 1m like for this video. Let me tell you about my plan i started it from first day in inferno1, invest on normal gems more than ressonance. I was 3k ressonance after the new gear sockets reached 3.6k ressonance, playing with necro dots build in pvp, using seeping, viper, bleeding bone spike and poisoned bone spear. 3.3k armor 3k armor pen 2.9k potancy 2.9k resistance With 2 vithus, 2 baron and 2 Boe. It's insane, some times i receive kill notification after 20 sec. Total of DOTs if everything is working around 60k+ per tic. Do i recommend it to f2p? Absolutely no, you will need to pay sometimes at last for awaken gems. Focus on resistance to stop some one like me.

I use all 3 of those!! All the enemies die almost instantly !!! Update: Using these Gems together is dangerous ! SEEPING BILE & VIPERS BITE IS ALMOST ALWAYS ACTIVATED stop this, ✋️ 😂😂
