Just doing a bit of catch up YT on one of our travel down days😂. We did the Holland Track in 2011. Much dryer in winter when when we did towing our camper trailer but too many fires and way to hot in summer. We played spot the puddle🤪. We are super impressed with you guys doing it in a truck because the track is tight in places too. Keep livin the dream and safe travels.
Your videos are amazing. You are naturals at this. The unfortunate thing about the Holland Track is that it's not closed over winter or when it's wet because wheel ruts created in wet conditions damage the track and create an obstacle course which spoils what meant to be a nice drive.
Love following your adventures. This video is epic. You guys seem to just take everything in your stride, laugh and have a great time doing it. Thankyou for sharing your life on the road and taking us places we would never have been able to go to.
Great couple of days driving the Holland track. So good to see that you guys were very gentle on the track to preserve it for others. Love the banter and humour of course. You guys revel in it!! So much fun.
Another very eventful trip , loved the video . We have a friend who rode a horse the full Holland Track , south to north about 10 years ago when he was 70 years old .
I first did the Holland Track nearly 30 yrs ago with a bloke called Dobbie Graham (a farmer and part time gold prospector from East Hyden. It really was a goat track back then - very hard to distinguish the overgrown track from surrounding bush. I went back about 8yrs ago and at that point it was almost a major highway (albeit a very rough) for most of its length, by comparison. I’ve been up it another two times since then and it has appeared to become more and more used each time I visit - which kind of takes the shine off the trip. It’s still an experience I would encourage people to see for themselves but for me it holds memories of bashing through the bush and taking soil samples, staking tyres, getting bogged and doing recoveries with a shovel, an axe and a kangaroo jack while working for a gold exploration company. No fancy fat tyres, sat phones, winches or diff locks.
Another awesome video guys the Holland Track is a mud swallowing pit of death when it's wet but that's why you did it for the adventure it's on my bucket 🪣 list cheers legends 😄
Seriously Good Job Guys! We just finished a weekender in the area around Hyden wave rock area - not really intending any 4X4 - just wanting to bush camp and rejuvenate after a hectic but awesome north west trip. Looked on Hema saw a "quick" 40k's on the HT from the back of Hyden to Mount Holland. Thinking how hard can this be? Sooo - Five hours later ....Our poor vehicle got absolutely trashed, flicked out of mud holes into scrub, more dents and scratches, the chicken tracks were at least as bad as the track. Mud up to the wazoo. Great experience but our rig just got a little bit more tired and dented. As you said _ " the Holland Track is not to be underestimated" when she's wet. Again - Good Job Guys. _ You Rock!
Our Canter is the same generation. That junction box at the front is the main cab to chassis connection, and it's in that location to allow the cab to be tilted for servicing. It's a good idea to seal them if planning lots of very deep water crossings. You can actually pop the grille off to get to it more easily if needed - especially on the crew cabs where tilting the cab is much more difficult. The other thing right at the front that can stop them dead in water is the drive motor for the fuel cut cable. Again, easy enough to get to for a bit of judicious waterproofing. Great fun seeing the two trucks together and we're looking forward to the next journey.
@@christophermaric5373 If fitted to your particular vehicle, the drive motor casing (which is the bit that needs sealing) will be mounted above the LHS chassis rail pretty much directly under the front passenger's footwell. If you have a single cab truck, tilt the cab and you can't miss it. If you have the 'crew cab' it's easiest to get to by removing the plastic mudguard liners on the LHS. The easiest way to waterproof it I've found is with a heavy duty plastic bag placed over the whole unit. Just make sure openings in the bag are completely sealed otherwise any water that does get into the bag won't dry out and will form condensation - the last thing you need. The other option is to carefully use sealant around the mating surfaces of the casing halves. Hope this helps.
Did the Holland track a couple of years ago, five weeks after a cyclone went through! On my own, in an old 2008 Ford Ranger dual cab. I went north to south and managed to do 130km under my belt before the first night camp. The Ranger did very well and probably one of the best camps I have ever have. I did it solo though.
OMG!! You guys are amazing!! I could not enjoy doing The Holland Track myself but it was incredible to watch. Love how the boys behave so well when you are travelling.Another awesome vid!! 👏👏
Thanks so much!! Yes the boys do pretty well but I guess they have never known anything but travelling 😂 they have their days though that’s for sure (: thanks so much for watching 🤠
Great filming guys, thanks for sharing. Love the camera drop and then picking it up like nothing happened. How do the whole family fit in the roof top? Man that’s definitely packed full lol😂. Thanks guys love your work!!
Wow, hectic! The Mitzi stopping in the 1st bog hole😮 Big Suze swaying thru those ruts. Y'all had me nervous! Definitely a well deserved motel stay after this
Awesome track, travel and company by the looks of thing. I've been watch you guys for ages now, many a vids with water in my eye's, and now I've nearly wet myself so looking for the man nappy for the next video. 🤣😂😅🤣 the kids did very well and big Suzy what a beast..
Nick, you need to turn left and right when in sticky mud to get the side biters on the tyres working to get traction. It also helps when spinning the tyres to clear the mud.
Shame you had damage but we have to expect these things while we travel , Australia is unforgiving at times as.Long as you all had fun .we enjoyed watching cheers
Great episode 🤙🏼 just watch your thumbs on the inside of the steering wheel especially if no power steering. The wheel can whip back, break wrists or fingers.
Well we were very surprised to hear Nick saying he was over the 4WDriving for a while, dam,age is always a concern on those sort of tracks. Nick I'm interested to know what you do with the join in the snorkel at around bullbar height, do you lather up the seal with grease cos I have looked at mine and I reckon it's really susceptible to water ingress but anyhow you survived which is the main thing. Elenya we just love the way you are so calm and collected just standing there filming with the muddy water just running in over the top of your boots. 🥵🥵 see you next week.❤❤
Yes hahaha I was surprised too(: we’d done our fair share though over the last couple of weeks 😂 Nick said ‘ we hadn’t done anything to it but I might silicone it’ (: Thanks for th support guys (:
I am in hysterics watching your son at the 4.20 point sticking his spoon up his nose and then into his mouth a few times. You really need to feed those boys 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂❣️❣️❣️❣️
@@elnick.adventures it is definitely one of the best things about taking revenge on your kids. Keeping all that sort of stuff to embarrass them with their friends around 😂😂❣️😂
OMG that was some crazy track. Suzie continued her dance moves and handled it well and managed to not slip and slide into too dangerous territory. I know we only see a tiny little bit but by gee those boys are amazing
I'd leave the dent. Call it a battle scar. It it ain't breaking you ain't going hard enough. I used to be precious of my 100k 4x4, now just use it the way the a 4x4 should. Great vid guys, i would have deflated a bit to help out. Go hard or stay home!
Hard to believe what the track look like now,as in the 1980,s the mining boys used to fly up that that track in old Holden and Ford as my partner used to work at marvel lock an the boys live in cool, gar, die to go home for a break, they were the days.
Well that was fun to watch. I can't really say it was a disaster though, looked like a lot of fun actually. When you can drive out under your own power then it is a pretty good trip. Blowing an engine at Pardoo on the way to Broome, now that was a disaster LOL Looking forward to catching up with your other content.
Gday, always look forward to watching your weekly adventures. Picked up one of your ELNICK Adventures hats and have worn it out and about already. Got a sticker for the car as well to help spread the word. Ordering from your website was easy peasy and delivery was fairly quick too. Once again, Suzi has proven her worth on another tough tested track. Isuzu Aust should be able to help you out with any spare parts to make sure the heated mirrors keep working as they should considering these amazing live product evaluations you continue to demonstrate to us all. :) Keep up the great entertaining footage of your wonderful families adventures. Cheers.
I enjoy your vids but no way i would travel along that track whilst it is in that condition. I dont want to damage my vehicle.. I’ve done most tracks but you do get to a point where you get over it. Well done folks. Bravo from Victoria Australia
I have to wonder why You Tube chooses to hide channels like this that I would be interested in watching? Good grief they are hopeless at recommending content. Oh well, found it now and some catching up to do :)
Cool trip. Elenya please be careful, don’t stand too close to the truck when you film, not worth an accident, footage from a few more meters away won’t harm us or you xxx
Cant believe the flack you guys are copping for this video... I see nothing wrong with what you guys have done. Especially when over the last month ive seen more damaged caused from dual cab utes skull dragging the rear diff through tracks or wheel spinning in ruts digging themselves in. Maybe the tracks a little too wet but if it was dry all you would hear about is how much dust you create, but i suppose thats the joys of being on RU-vid! I couldnt do it.😅 Safe travels guys. 👍
We’ve been following your adventures for some time now and were a little disappointed by this video. I don’t think you should have been on that track as you’re just causing heaps of damage. We are full time travellers ourselves and also have a 4WD truck, sure you can go lots of places but you should be asking yourself, should I? Nothing worse than driving along a road that has been destroyed because someone has driven it in the wet and destroyed it. As “supposed” role models for others maybe you guys need to show some better judgement
Sorry guys I love you lot and I look forward to your weekly adventures but I don’t believe you should have done that track in those conditions. It seems your only feeding nicks ego. Look forward to next week. Take care Ken
I'm sure the Toyota Club of WA, who maintain the track, would get a real kick out of this video. I wonder if Nic and his mate drove up the cap-rocks and ripped up the fragile moss growth too just to sugar coat their damage to the track.
