I can't be sure about your specific case, but leveling everything to max is not always the best strategy in every scenario. During a fight, when the yellow energy bar underneath the health bar of a hero reaches 100%, the hero's ultimate (the first of the four skills) is triggered. You want this to happen as often as possible, as it increases damage output or has some other beneficial effect. A hero's energy increases 1) when doing damage to an enemy, 2) when receiving damage from an enemy and 3) when the hero kills an enemy by delivering the last strike. Let's look at 2). The amount of energy your hero gets from an incoming attack depends on the percentage of health your hero loses. More % health lost means more energy. If your hero receives less damage because of high armor or magic defense for example, it also means the energy bar fills up slower, and as a result the ultimate is not triggered as often, which can mean lower damage output for the hero or even the whole team (depending on what the first skill does). For the same reason it's not always best to maximize health, because the same incoming attack will do less damage to your hero percentage wise and so that means again less energy.

@Bonez0r thank you for this info. I just started playing this game and thought the yellow bar increase was from the damage the character dealt out, not received. On my 3rd day of playing, I also realized that Galahad was not my character and so I don't have to keep him in my battle line up. 🤣

Great idea, if I understand correctly. A sandbox environment where we can experiment with heroes and stats _before_ we actually put valuable time and resources into one or more heroes.
