I feel for Dame. My mom grew up poor and was the only one who “made it”. One of her brothers died and my mom felt responsible to help his daughter. They lived in a third world country, in the hood. My mom paid for her college tuition, supplies, and her board exams. She passed, legally came to the US, and the minute she got a taste of the good life, never paid my mom back. She cuts us off completely. My grandma also never retired- she worked as a janitor in her 60’s to make money and adopt my cousin’s siblings so she could take care of them. Once they got here, the other two straight up abandoned the family. Sorry for the rant- I don’t appreciate people who don’t pay money back or communicate their plans/intentions of paying back. It’s not about money, it’s about integrity.
