I like it a lot when people ask me what kind of music I like, and I say Damien Rice, and they answered "who?" That moment is unique, He is my favorite artist and I like the "concealment" he has.

I'll be seventy years old next year and I prefer Damien as a single artist, nothing against lisa. Damien has a way with lyrics, styling songs and playing his guitar which to me proves his talent bravo my brother!
What actually happened between those two? I hear some people 'demonize' Lisa, but I never really found out why? I don't ussualy ask myself or other people questions like this, but still wondering.. So much beautiful emotions expressed, yet seems like not honestly comunicated in reality..
@@ivana3813 OK. So they were in a relationship. When it ended thet both had some lyrics that were kinda easy to read. Adressed to each other. The few interviews where they commented a bit are Long gone. But basically. Damien was not kind to lisa to finish the relationship. She left and he was OK for a while. He once said one of the Greatest moments in his life was meeting lisa and one of the worst losing her. He asked her to work with him again but she refused. It is believed she never had any contact with him again. When Damo released MFFF he stated it was particulary hard to write and it took him a lot Cause he was re inventing himself as a person. And he missed his partner but he came to accept she wouldnt come back. Lisa on the other hand. Once was asked about her song "little bird" she said it was connected to that breakup. She wasnt sure about writing it but at the same time she needed to. In that song she writes stuff like "your heart sings like a kettle and your words they boil away like steam" and "you are lonely as a church despite the quoeing on your door" we can of course take a lot of meaning from there. "A sail" also has a few lines that are a clear reference. Damien supposedly composed "the Greatest bastard" out of his regrets for lettin lisa go. Yet this was never confirmed. They relationship crushed that's for sure. They both came to closure. But they both have stated their paths will never cross again
This, Wild and Free (or Box), and Stone are some of my favorite Damien tracks. He keeps getting better, when he is in his 50s his music is going to be so good its going to create a vortex in the universe. 2012 will be the last great supposed apocalypse, until we await Damien's Magnum Opus. At that point, no other artist will have it in them to create anything, as it will just fail in comparison.

i agree she has def put out the more powerful stuff since the breakup. which i still don't know why they did? and maybe it's not below avg but no way does it touch what they did together. give me a bottle of whine and the cd O and i am set! or maybe i'm just bitter?

i disagree it's not the same without lisa this is another example of a below avg song. at least we have those two albums. they were amazing and now both avg without each other.
