Sup folk!
So here's a little follow up to my latest video as it seemed unfinished to me 😊. For those of you just tuning in, that particular pulley had a .025" taper (in a bad way lol) and was wobbling it's way off of the shaft.
So by utilizing the material I had on hand as well as my new little boring bar I brought the bore diameter out by about .060" and flanged up a sleeve out of some 1/2" copper tubing.
Hope you enjoy and as always...
Thanks for watching!

I did the same fix on a vintage Delta Milwaukee that had an aluminum step cone pulley. I made the split sleeve from thin, aluminum sheet.

Sadly, finding new pulleys of the same dimension can be difficult and/or costly. A sleeve is the best option imho 😊.

Nice fix! Use a dead low hammer to tap on cast pulleys, they shatter very easily, I’ve done it so now I know.

Or at the very least a block of wood lol. I cringe when I see that too 😬

Using this copper pipe, you don't have water in the bathroom anymore, but at least you can drill holes.

Don't store your mic all the way closed. Contracting, and expansion regardless how slight will effect its accuracy. This is only applicable to a 0"-1" mic.

Hey Chris. Always Love your video,s. Craptastic or Crap Tastic, spell check still does not like it ?? Google quote : the quality of being so crappy that the object is humorous or desireable. That mostly covers it, LOL. Not sure about the use of Copper as a bushing material ?? Might need a replacement at some point. But it is a fix you wanted. Happy you could resolve the problem easily. But that is the reason i watch. You make it happen. Thanks for posting your video,s. Always enjoy. Peter.

Thanks, Peter. Yeah at some point a proper sleeve might be in order. The concentricity of that pulley was worse than the rotor on the motor 🤣, and that's saying something. But, it's running better than it has most likely for many years and I'm good with that😊. Thanks again 😁.

My guess is either the steps in the pulley are not cast concentric or the Guy didn't have it chucked up concentric in the lathe when boring.
