he was in pain, he was broken, not only his vamp life, he didn't get loved enough since he was a kid(human), we should be grateful that he hadn't turned like kai, he learned to control, overcome the pain, he fought hard but no-one ever gave him a chance, elena did but sometimes she sucks too, he cared for her too much, if elena could've done same for damon, he would've been changed in first💔

From the beginning damon was the most interesting brother. I was always team damon. These lines are so sad. It's always going to be stefan. I miss it more then anything in the world . There's only so much hurt a man can take. He wants to be human. He never wanted to be a vampire. He has a limit as well. Rose meant a lot to him even though he pretends she doesn't. When rose dies and elena hugs him that's another sad scene as it looks like he's trying to compose himself. But with Katherine. It hurts. He gets rejected twice because stefan is the " better man ". I have doubts as to that. He's a amazing character and Ian is born for the role.

Craziest thing about this whole series...there actually is a humanity switch and we CAN turn it off.

Stefan described Damon perfectly when he referred to him as emo. He's overly sensitive and emotional, and those emotions are what drive him over the edge. It's the biggest reason he kills, so it's always best to know what he's feeling and when. More so because their emotions are magnified, which makes Damon overly emo. He has no problem punishing himself. He does it all the time, even when he's done nothing wrong. He'll push people away because he doesn't feel deserving. It's easier for him to be hated than to feel, so he acts like a dick. He has a problem letting other people see him in pain. That's why he wanted Elena to leave when Rose was dying, why he'd want Andie to leave his room when he's crying... and so much as kill her if she doesn't. Why he'd sit alone at Alaric's grave instead of lighting Japanese lanterns with the group. Damon has to deal with his pain how he deals with his pain. Slam him for feeling, and he's likely to kill. That's why he often reacts when Stefan brings up his humanity. Damon will kill Coach Tanner or simply beat the hell out of Stefan. He doesn't want to be viewed as an emo, but as a big bad vampire. However, the fact that he is overly sensitive and emotional makes him suitable for Elena, she just needed to help him express his emotions in a positive way. If you're having a shitty day, don't hurt anyone or break anything, just kiss her lol.

Damon had the biggest character development in the entire TVD verse. He wasn’t evil he was just broken. Remember Damon never wanted to be a vampire he just wanted to die but Stefan forced him to become one

Damon reminds me of Tyler in a way both were abused and neglected by both of there parents and that partially explains why they became jerks later in life

Damon Salvator was the epdipie of this show. He had me laugh, cry, swoon melt into puddles made me mad at times. Damon is not a perfect character he's flawed but I loved him anyway. Even though it took me a well 2. 🤣😘🥰

Ian Joseph Somerhalder is an absolutely amazing Actor, along with Paul Wesley, and everyone on the show. It makes me so sad to see both brothers sad, because it makes me sad. I don't blame the Actors for wanting their characters to die, because they both did bad things, and they are absolutely right, and I agree, but despite what they did wrong, they both did good in the end, and that is all that matters. I'll always love these two, TEAM DAMON & TEAM STEFAN 👍🔥🙏 SAGITTARIUS ♐🏹 & LEO ♌🦁.

If katherina says to damon that I loved you not stefan, he forgot elena and go for katherina. I think damon's character wasnt good and clear. He killed so many innocent people just to get over his some bad memories. He was so selfish but anyway I like he and elena's chemistry.
