Dan really is "The Heart Of The Ghostbusters". It would be amazing to meet him. He's a genius and I love how passionate he is about the field of unexplained phenomena. His passion and love of this field definitely come across in both movies.
@@jondunmore4268 I find him very sharp and intelligent though. He knows that it's a controversial topic but can't help believing in it, maybe out of plain curiosity.
so surprised and yet now I feel a close connection with him, my family had the same take on ghosts, we were just brought up that way. we talked to them and read cards. Got to find that book of Mr Peter Aykroyd, my grandson can't get enough of Ghost Busters
Dan akroyd is my idol one of the best actors of all time. and I love his believes which I believe in the same of "UFOs and ghost" Ackroyd is an incredible man.✌✌👽👽👽👽👽
I may not believe in what they believe, I nevertheless can't resist these two very likeable gentlemen. I also think it's very sweet that Dan can still do this together with his father.
I met Dan Akroyd briefly at a DVD signing/talk 10 years ago and he's a really nice guy and it was fascinating to see he was pretty much playing himself when he was Ray Stantz. It's rare to find someone who played a fictional character who truly believes what is portrayed, that's so cool it's like finding out Harrison Ford is really an archeologist......kind of,I couldn't think of a better analogy :p
Aspbergers.people with this operate on a different level they know things That reg. people don't and see things other people don't see. Dan AKROYD Has asbergers .i believe him.
@@sarahleach9997 I have Asperger's, too. I agree that autism spectrum disorders can have a very positive impact on a person. You don't need to be on the spectrum to interact with ghosts, though (to be clear, I've had several interactions with ghosts so I may not be the best person to speak on the matter lol).
@@jondunmore4268 yet when to tell someone youre religious and believe in a god that accepted and yet there is zero evidence of any deity existing funny that isnt it just because one is old that's its accepted and the other isnt its ridiculed.
@@jondunmore4268 one has to experience some unaccounted for occurrence to believe in. Not necessarily a séance, mind you. Then you start believing or at least show some respect.
@@oisinosborne4154 browsing through the Bible, I once came across a passage in the old testament where a group of men were having a séance when something happened. The word séance is used in the King James version.
@@oisinosborne4154 -- Why are you putting words in my mouth? And non-grammatical words at that. What sort of morons believe in deities anyway? Same people who believe in ghosts - like this Dan Aykroyd curmudgeon.
wow. great to see & hear Dan's father. I spoke with a construction engineer once who told me he saw a ghost while inspecting an old antique building for the city. He said it was in a hallway.
I love Dan Aykroyd!!! He's my childhood hero, his "Ghostbusters 2" is my personal favourite movie but i love most of Aykroyd's work. He's such an interesting man
Check out our interview with Dan Aykroyd on Larry King Now. He talks about the new SNL, UFOs, and his latest movie with Matt Damon and Michael Douglas.
I saw a ghost standing right next to me, in broad daylight, while talking to a friend. I looked back to my friend to ask if he had seen him? He did not.
In 2007, I moved from a very old home in Boston, MA to a brand new townhome in the suburb of Bridgewater, MA about a 40 minute drive away. Approximately three years in, strange things started to happen, which led me to believe eventually that my new house was haunted. I did not know at the time that the town of Bridgewater, as well as its surrounding towns, is known for having paranormal experiences. The area is apparently known as "The Bridgewater Triangle." A friend staying with me experienced some of these things as well. Strangely, they, the spirits if you will, were gone; and fortunately things got back to normal, and I am no longer afraid to be in my own place alone. I don't tell many people, because some can't be convinced of course.
As soon as you said Bridgewater I thought oh shit, where's this going? What kind of things happened did you see anything? The scariest part of that is that it was 3 years before you noticed anything,it makes me think a lot more places might be haunted than I thought and I just didn't stick around long enough. Every time you hear a haunted house story things start getting weird in the first few days,it's scarier to think that maybe they wait and vet the people they wanna fuck with which I'm pretty sure is the technical term...;)
I lived in Bridgewater for 5 years and now live in the neighboring town of Halifax. I kept hoping for something paranormal to happen. Never did. My house in Halifax was built in 1768. Maybe something paranormal will happen there.
I had strange experiences five years ago moving into my new apartment that lasted about six months then mostly subsided but not entirely. I live on the opposite world from Boston. It does no good to tell people because they think you’re crazy. Also things happened when other people were visiting so not exactly my imagination.
The Ghostbusters saga has delighted me from the age of three. The subject matter is awe-inspiring. "A History of Ghosts" is a fascinating read. I think some people are genetically predisposed to more clearly sense, or perhaps even attract, indication of beings from dimensions generally beyond human perception. In the house in which I grew up, my mother would, from the stairs, hear the unaccountable voice of a young boy. One night, my older brother awoke, and was terrified to see the night light, several feet above his bed, to have been switched on. One afternoon, my mother and younger brother heard the front door, followed by the sound of someone running upstairs; only to find the house empty. Aged seventeen, I began to see, in certain genetically unrelated media faces, certain similarities - not just arbitrary comparison of features, but a likeness, unnoticed before, which drew me to to irresistibly close recognition. I realise this may sound like self-deluding fantasy, but I believe such people - and perhaps everyone, to some extent - are related independently of hereditary lineage. If ghosts inhabit a dimension beyond the reach of physical matter, might then, to some extent, the human body? Anyway, I call this phenomenon Transgenic Kinship.
I believe Dan has Asperger's indeed, based on how he speaks in the interview here and in other interviews recorded online. I did not know he is a Christian. Cool! Nothing negative or bad about that. It's great that he can be a public speaker and represent others who have had to embrace that about themselves. ;)
Dan has openly admitted that he has the condition. I'm not sure about his dad though. He seems a lot more engaged and upbeat...whereas Dan is displaying more typical behaviour associated with ASD sufferers. Eyes glued to the table, fast speech...nonetheless he's a fascinating and highly intelligent man with an array of talents that I think completely overshadow and overcompensate for it.
Cynthia Hutchinson people w As are fascinating. I specialized in it for years and found people w it to be extremely creative and very intuitive. I would love to listen to him speak.
This is great..i literally just posted a short video because after watching it we saw what looked like orbs come right out of me. IT WAS SOOOOO COOOL .....😂. I just feels cool that an entity or spirit was like heyyyy im with you. Its on my channel..btw i saw an ufo with my grandmom in west virginia when i was around age 8. Im now 39. I believe it all. Just because ive seen it ! Thank you😊🌸
All of this family legacy in paranormal seems like great true to life back story material that they may have incorporated into Egon's family story in the new Ghostbusters sequel. Fascinating stuff.
While parapsychology is not recognized by mainstream science it works scientifically to explain phenomenon. It also addresses the psychological and neurological aspects of it. Maybe it's as simple as some people are wired a bit differently which makes them natural conduits for ESP phenomenon. I believe there has been authentic communication but with whom or what is up for debate.
I can see Dan sitting there thinking, "you called me on this show to talk about a 20 year old movie I did? I thought we were going to really discuss the paranormal."
Dan is such a good son. Never had any experiences with ghosts myself exactly, but I've had enough supernatural or spiritual experiences outside of that to be open to other people's stories about them. And Dan's right; either way, they are entertaining!
I don't know if anyone or Dan will get this but a story I had when I was very young my sister passed away with a brain tour a few weeks from then I see my sister coming towards me on the side of my bed and I was so afraid and she had tried to talk to me through my head and I covered myself up with the blankets as I can feel her sitting at the foot of my bed and I must have passed out 50 years later my brother and I were talking about UFOs and strange things and he told me 50 years ago he saw my sister our sister and he thought I was sleeping and she came up along my bed and then sat on my bed and I thought he was sleeping and to find out we both seen the exact same thing but didn't tell each other until 50 years later true story I'll never forget it the rest of my life
Two of the best books I have read is "Ghosts True Encounters with the World Beyond" by Hans Holzer and "Real Ghosts, Restless Spirits and Haunted Places" by Brad Steiger. A must read for scientific evidence and historic facts on this subjectl
Hay Dan my name is Dan,, my great great was Daniel Douglas Home,, what a coincidence,, my family was doing medium-ship to. A lot of people investigated my gg grandfather and no one ever found any sign's of fraud, in fact some of the most reputable science skeptics of the day where converted after seeing a table float up in the room. People had even seen Daniel home float up in a room.
10:40 ghosts can exist as "energy cannot be created nor destroyed - _einstein_* some that take ghost hunting seriously are using EMF devices to look for ghosts on youtube (some are fake) but i think some actually trying 21:05 and thats the EMF devices we have today (electronic magnetic frequency devices)
Love the way that Peter Aykroyd pronounces "About" like "Abuut" - just like in South Park, actually thought that was a overembelishment from the creators of SP, guess not...
Not only did I have American society for psychical research journals lying around I had European society for psychical research as well as Fortean Times.
@buttervaughnkingson I totally disagree with you...Mr.Aykroyd would never do this. He's an honest open down to earth person...but if we all believed the same thing it would be a pretty mundane world..:o)
@Ghosthead83 Yes!, Dan have a brother named Peter too, and he co-scripwriter with Danny "Nothing but trouble". And Peter is actor too. You don´t be wrong : )
Now we know where Dan got his intelligence from. ..but dad is even more intelligent...but not more talented. Dan is SUPERNATURALLY talented. His talent is beyond comprehension ...imo.
This is really interesting. Dan is such a smart guy. But what he isn’t saying is that the spiritualist sittings were just popular parlor tricks that were popular in the 20’s. And they have been thoroughly debunked.
Good question. Father, son, Holy Spirit. The Mass is a ritual complete with the same props, incantations etc... Praying is casting a spell, for all intents and purposes.
If you're "communicating with spirit's", you're opened to possession by demons. There's no ghosts, but there are ministering angels, and sinister demons. #DontPlayWithFire
jesus christ, I hope your superstitions protect you from Abaddon, Asmodeus and Pazuzu. Make your peace with your imaginary god because I have cursed you to be dragged to Sheoul by Abaddon.
