This has to be the weirdest segment I've ever seen on morning tv. Kudos to the station that did this, you don't often see mainstream programmes promoting left field artists.
I live in Savannah, back in the day you could get away with shit like this its such a small town. Now, the "mao space" is a luxury condo for some weathy tourists :/ , amazing opportunites of savannah coming and going
I live in Ohio and I can confirm every day is like this. The guy at the gas station asked me how much gas I wanted to buy and I was like "WE'RE TALKIN PAPER FORKS NOW WE'RE TALKIN BACON CUTS NOW WERE TALKIN TURKEY TALKIN TURKEY"
I went into work and told them I had a group for them to show on stage. They said what kinda music were you thinking? I said I’m talking 16 ska bands I’m talking 19 ska bands I’m talking hoody floots and soody floots nu.
Its funny when i first saw this back in 2006 i was 12. I remember laughing at how weird and crazy dan was acting. now when i watch this at 22 years old i actually really enjoy the chord progression and singing. Rock on dan
@@chicken4090holy cow same! I've been on the Internet for decades and never saw these early essentials until this year. There's ALWAYS something to look forward to, without a doubt
I held the trippy green skull once. Great show, very fun, but I honestly think John Maus brings more intensity and power to his shows, less crowd interaction but way more fun.
Think his amplified ring modulator exceeded all the available signal headroom causing huge audible clipping - no soft limiting there, just pure nasty digital distortion, hoho.
I heard a friend of his was an intern at the local studio and said he knew a "touring musician" that was coming into town and the studio had wanted a musical guest for a while. After they were "furious" except for the anchor who apparently really liked it. Deacon talks about it in one of his interviews.....
The composition of this song is really good. And the fact that Dan Deacon is playing it on a computer suitable to save the planet from ultimate impending doom makes it that much cooler. Kick ass.
I went years with this drum cadence floating in my memory wondering where do I know that from? ...then I remembered and it literally is a representation of one of the best modern tracks ever made.
Deans’ performance was breathtaking and truly groundbreaking. Forever to be remembered as the seminal act of artististism in the history of Music. Deans gift to the world.
I might not 'get it,' like, it's not quite my thing, but this is kind of dope and it takes courage and creativity to do something unconventional, especially on tv
+Frank Castle He's actually extremely talented. This song compared to his other work is terrible though lol. Check out his song When I Was Done Dying, absolutely beautiful song!
Pmsl I love the break down when he starts singing double time, "WERE TALKING PAPER FORKS NOW, WERE TALKIN PAPER CUPS NOW"????? or what ever, but its fucking genius, an eccentic if I ever saw one, and I'm British, and we are a nation of eccentrics!!
Feb 12, 2005 5:45 am Savannah, GA You wake up, head downstairs to make some coffee, and you turn on the news to catch the weather forecast before you head out for work. You do not see the forecast; instead, you see this.
My life flashed before my eyes, started this song and 2o years passed. OH MAN glad things turned out ok………. I’m still drunk, but Holy SHIT everything else is wrong !!!! And I have diabetes too??? Oh boy
This is what makes humans so unique and fun to watch!! Crazy is the only way to be when you've got all these emotions and thoughts to deal with. Go forth and be crazy! and enjoy it!
shnoobar not sure if you’re still curious but there’s another full vid where he talked to the guy from the news and explained his entire setup. I don’t think I can link in a comment but I’ll try.
