In my teens i loved the granberries, now i love dan vasc😇 He did many great covers.. Ever dream is also a great cover..

I do like Dans version, it’s obviously updated, because this was written during all the troubles in Northern Ireland. But Delores “Keening” in this brings home the hurt of the families and Mothers. Delores did it as a protest for the violence that was going on. Soldiers were sent into Northern Ireland to keep the peace, but the troubles continued and bombs were being set off in England, (no matter who was there, innocent people). In Warrington UK two young boys were killed by one of these bombs. Delores was trying to say enough is enough, the hate and accusing had been going on since 1916…. The eh eh eh oh, part she sings is traditional Irish Lament/wailing, at funerals , not many can do this and just sing eh eh or oh oh….. on that Delores to me deeply puts the message across, of the futility of the deaths and the deep hurt it was causing families.

Loved to see you rocking out. I heard the Cranberries version as it was played constantly in the radio back in the 90's. I think the song is even more relevant today than it was then, and Dan puts exactly the right energy and anger into it.

Dan did say it's a cover of a cover. Bad Wolves covered it. They are the ones that changed it to 2018. The year Dolores O'Riorden died. And also the change to drones. But Dan did an awesome job!!

Watched the cranberries version first. Well, apart from the visuals being better :), I prefer male voices to females anyway, but yes! Dan's is so much better in my opinion. Thank you for doing the comparison, that's a great idea!
