Does anyone else feel like Dan always looks like he’s trying to hold back a laugh every time he’s talking? Kinda funny lol

My theory is that for some people it's part of being shy. John Haack seems to be similar from what I see.

How do you choose accessory movements for squat, bench and deadlift, if your sticking point is at the bottom, middle and top part of the lift?
@brized
@brized 7 лет назад
Bottom of squat = pause squats, as Dan mentioned at 1:22 Bottom of deadlift = deficit deadlifts, pause deadlift Bottom of bench = pause bench Top of squat = add chains Top of bench = block bench, add chains Top of deadlift = rack pulls, add chains
@largebarnacle9038

ive heard doing pin presses or floor presses has effective carryover for locking out a bench
@perman07

I think Mike T's approach of regularly doing singles at RPE 8 to have a weekly estimated 1RM makes the most sense for determining good accessory movements. You can then test various exercises in a cycle and then correlate which exercise additions tend to correlate with an upward trending e1RM. If pin squats tend to lead to increasing squat e1RMs, they should be a staple you use many cycles.

@@brized I'll add in there, Bottom of Bench = Dead Press Bench
@donashen

Mid part of the deadlift- pin pulls Mid squat- tempo Mid bench- spoto press
