I haven’t watched Watson play since the shootout with the Chiefs in the playoffs a few years ago. I watched the game on Sunday and it is insane how different he looks

It’s like watching a whole other player. He literally can’t make any of the throws he used to make. None of the Houdini plays either. It’s ridiculous. He seems physically shot and mentally he can’t be doing well with all that’s gone on in his life over the last few years (a lot of it by his own doing). Might not ever get back to what he was, and that might be the largest fall from grace I’ve seen in sports in years.

I am a Bucs fan and a Jameis Winston fan for 3 years. In the 4th year, me and the fans were saying, "do not pay this guy". Jameis will come in and look good for a game or two. Then he will get hurt. When Jameis carried weight on him he was nearly indestructible. When he slimmed down nothing but issues. With that being said, I would bench Watson within 3 more games if he does not turn it around. Go to Winston and he will produce for two weeks before he gets hurt. Then go to the third option. Stupid trades result in stupid outcomes. Feel sorry for the Browns fans. Thanks for Baker.

I am a big Browns fan. I still cannot understand signing him with that comment. He did not want to be in Cleveland. He wanted the guaranteed contract. As for as I am concerned, you play Watson the whole season no matter what. On the hook for all that money in the next 3 yrs. You cannot bench him. I don't care if we go 0-17. You get want you pay for. Browns fans and management have to deal with it. Hopefully, he's strong enough to turn this around soon. Oh heck, he's going to get hurt and be out for the season anyway.

He didn't want to play here but AOAS when that money came a calling he sure changed his tune. He took that bag knowing all these cases were going to catch up to him. It's obvious he doesn't want to be here, it's obvious he's just biding his time to make sure he gets paid, it's disgusting. It's sickening that mgmt fully guaranteed his contract. 26, now 27 cases? Even if the courts wont do anything, it wouldn't be anything new for the League to step in and do something with this guy and hopefully they do something to bail CLE out of this situation. Yes we made the mistake of signing him, but I doubt we knew how deep his issues were, we clearly didnt know what we were getting ourselves into.

Just announced in Houston another lawsuit against Watson. This one involves the "R" word. If the Browns have a clause in the contract that prohibits lewd behavior, Watson may have just allowed Cleveland to cut him.

That's the beauty of The Browns they will get rid of any QB just because he's a Great QB (Baker thanks you) it doesn't matter to the Browns they use their Cracker Jack Scouting Methodology and see if there is any other QB out there that might be currently in Jail having not played for a few years, Handicapped, blind , no sense of smell and sign them immediately to a contract that screws the payout for every other player you might want to get to actually round out your team. That's why when someone says it looks like the Steelers are gonna be dead last this year you just have to remind them what Division the Browns are in.

Baker has a long way to go before anyone calls him a great QB. He may have been the more fiscally reasonable option but let's not act like Watson and Baker were in the same league the year this deal was signed. Watson may be a POS but he was also a Top 5 QB at the time.

@@josephc5493 Yes. I agree with much of what you say, but he was out of football serving time and wasn’t able to practice. That killed him. I don’t think giving up 3 picks for him was smart at all. Kurt Cousins was a better option. Less risk and he worked with Stefanski already. I think the contract would have been the same, but at least you wouldn’t have given away 3 first round picks for him

Flacco showed what this offense can do. He spread the ball around, hit Njoku, and has a mean play action fake. And he played offensive offense. I dont mind some picks if you’re winning overall. Obviously he f’d up in the playoffs but he was a spark that showed that the team is playoff caliber

Jameis was like that in New Orleans in that he would rally the team and was a good leader. The Saints players loved him. Despite getting a bum deal from DA letting Dalton take his job when he got hurt. I loved it when he called that running play on Viictory formation to let RB J Williams score a TD in their last game last year with the Falcons. Arthur Smith was so mad he cursed out DA for running up the score. lmao Winston is missed here. Hope he does get the starting job there or something..i feel he still is a starter somewhere

These modern day QB contracts need to be more performance based, and not just guaranteed. If a QB continues to overthrown WRs, then this affects the match payment. If others arent performing for the QB, hes entitled to be frustrated at his coaching staff and the players themselves for the crappy standards

KC fan here. I used to root for CLE (if they weren't playing KC). I was tired of the Browns never being competitive against the league darling Steelers and felt for their town and fan base (HATED when they moved to BAL). But once they gave that Creep Deshaun that ridiculous contract I've hoped they fall flat on their faces. Signing an obvious flop like Manzel was bad enough but this took the cake.

Just because you have a bad contract with a QB doesn't mean you have to play them. You're paying them either way. Why pay them to lose games? Pay them to sit on the bench and find somebody else. Learn the lesson and move on.

Clearly this is a mental issue for Watson. I don't know if he did what he has been accused of. What I do know is that what he is going through is most certainly stressful. Football is half mental, and everything else, especially at the QB position. I am shocked to be honest. I didn't think he would be this out of touch on the field. Perhaps, he should just retire?

23/24 women settled. This is number 24 i think watson and agent made sure to include her in his original contract. So browns would not be able to void I hope browns get out of contract but i think they got three more years.

A new lawsuit just came out against Watson, and it's a lot worse than the previous 20-something. The Browns may be able to void his contract on that basis, unless Watson gave them prior knowledge of this defendant before signing his contract. If that strategy works, they can cut Watson and be off the hook for the $92 million between 2025 and 2026. However, they would still incur a dead cap hit of roughly $27 million in 2025 and $53 million in 2026. The league may not be willing to look the other way either. But cutting Watson and having $80 million against the salary cap is better than paying him $92 million to stink.
