I have this exact model Rob!😍 I bought this around a year ago? Yes it’s absolutely stunning! I also have the 1970 Dive watch. Another stunning watch. They’re a fantastic watch, good value & service provided is second to none!👍🏻😎
Had a 1970 mk.1. The initial impression wore off quickly as the hands were barely lumed . The mineral crystal scratched up easily, and I barely wore the thing. Fell out of love within a month, sold for a slight loss.
I have the actual Seiko version and I have seen a few Dan Henry 1962 which works the same way, dials in the same place. The Dan Henry comes with better quality straps and several different colored dials and hands. Plus the nice bag where they Seiko has a crappy strap and comes in a standard box.
Hi Rob, yeah the K1 mineral is definitely not very scratch resistant in my opinion. I actually scratched the crystal on my Dan Henry within 24 hours of getting it. And I’m not particularly rough with my watches.
"The wrist formerly known to be 7.25 inches thick". ;) Don't mind the "repetition" at all - I think this is the first time I've seen this colourway discussed/filmed anywhere. Only saw it on the DH website before. Having now seen the blue in motion, it doesn't make the decision any easier. Both this and the 1964 look great in almost all their variants. And good value for money too, IMO.
Have a Yema Mecaquartz, for a quartz movement chrono, they do a great job at an affordable price. That DH does look sweet. Oddly a brand never been interested in, but you can't have it all. Someday your going to look to review a watch I may own, without a doubt would allow you to review it. Also I would include a few others, even as far away a Perth Watches..
@@hoangle-pb7zx so im guessing the vk64 isnt any better since seiko doesnt usually upgrade their movements much, shame, i took a liking to the corniche chronographs.
@@callmedru I want a Dan Henry 1962, but seriously considering against it, especially for 260usd. The hand is friction held, so it's slipping due to the force of the snap back. I wonder how many vk6x owners never click their cronos.
You're not kidding, if someone was looking for pure value that's the way to go, you are buying this one for it's "unique" style and it's limited run. Looks like these watches keep their value because of the limited numbers.
There is a HUGE design oversight with this watch. But after watching numerous reviews nobody seems to get it. Anybody, ANYBODY? The flaw is screaming. The problem is glaringly embarrassing and makes it very difficult for me to pull the trigger. Really wish DH got it right. But he didn't.
Affordable, just a bit more than for a Swatch Irony, great design, attention to details, very well made for the price point. When you are travelling and don’t want to bring a Rolex or an Omega ?
They seem to do a nice job with case and dial details and excellent printing. I think it is for the person who wants a vintage looking watch but with no hassles. Dan is also a well respected collector so maybe that lends a certain credibility?
silkhead44 I have some Timex too ! But the watches from Dan Henry are build and finish a whole lot better than Timex ! Look, I think that real watch enthusiasts can appreciate watches of any price point for what they are.
I have a DH 1964. I like it, but... ... a common thing on the DH watches that the hour and the minutes hands often gets lost in the background. Why/how can't a watch geek make a watch with barely visible hands??? I am searching for hands replacements for my DH 1964 Gran Turismo Chronograph, 38mm, Silver. I wish something glossy, very very black. Lume not required at all. Help please.
