I think Hooker made a good point. Why fight a less popular more dangerous guy like Arman, when Islam can run through Gaethje, Poirier, Oliviera and make more money. And fighters move on from losses. Do you think Islam is still salty from getting slept in the first round by Martins? That was more embarrassing than Hookers loss to him.

⁠⁠@@user-io5xd6to1kIt’s not necessarily who Islam wants to fight, it’s also what makes sense for the UFC. The UFC still want that Oliveira fight because that Brazilian market is still their 2nd biggest market and then they have Gaethje carrying around the BMF belt. In regards to the Martins loss, it was his 2nd fight in the UFC, he got caught it happens and he’s moved on, something Dan clearly hasn’t done

It seems that way, but realistically, it could be another 2 years before he gets his chance. How long was Dariush there in the top 5 and he never got his shot. Belal is there now and will never get it. Islam, himself, had to win 10 in a row to get a shot. That fact is, Arman isn't a "star" right now, which you've highlighted. While he may be deserving, he probably will not get it anytime soon. ISLAM / CHARLES - Let's say March ISLAM / JUSTIN - October Then, Islam will most likely go up and fight at WW. We're looking at Arman getting a shot sometime in 2025.

Dan sir, i still be a respectful fan to you for the sacrifices and pain you took and fantastic matches you had...but you say, arman rematch will make Makachev retire as its risky?.. man Makachev took the biggest risk giving your guy volk all that there is in your division without a single contender match and still defeated him?.. also arman vs makachev in 2019 showed how a match with sheer technical brilliance of defence, can be such a beautiful watch and not all fights need to be brutal for fans to buy a ppv...it was short notice gor both guys at that time...armans idol is the eagle 🦅 which made him venture to mma...also armenia vs dagestan in abu dabi or saudi or vegas ... anywhere will sell tickets...anyways this comment means nothing to you but its crazy of your statements... Everyone is saying he’s salty but I think dans right. Islam is a carful fighter he picks fights for a reason money legacy or for himself he gets nothing from the arman fight and he will likely retire in a few years. They have been open about his plans to retire younger I would bet 5 fights left max for Islam; He’s also said that he doesn’t want rematches specifically in the context of not fighting arman.

@@Wafi9k not saying it’s islams fault arman isn’t up to scratch I also do not blame the dude for not wanting rematches I think a lot of people are getting tired of the constant rematches. He also totally picks fights he’s talked about it before; most champs do and he’s nowhere near as bad as some other champions but he does and will probably never fight arman because why would he?
