Hooker has reached the top of the division on cardio, chin, heart, and power alone which is impressive. His striking, defence and grappling are not up to the same standard as the former attributes but if he can bring them up, he can hang in the top 5 indefinitely. Im not saying hes unskilled, its just his grit and endurance is champion level for SURE, but his technical prowess its not in the likes of Makachev or Poirier for example.
Dan is a very technical striker - probably more technical than Poirier. You might think he’s just swinging for the fences but you don’t get that many knockouts and victories without setting clever traps and having great footwork.
Has to be Charlie Olives or Justin Gaethje next for the Hangman... hes top 5 now, they are ahead of him and both comin off loses... Arman is fightin for the title next, and he already fought Poirier!!

Dan is the new contender right behind arman, because arman got there first arman probably gonna fight for the title and ufc will probably make dan fight again anyway. But dan could just wait it out or if he wants to stay active then pick one of the top 3

he aint earned a shot, that fight could have gone either way, besides no one want to see islam fight a striker like hooker whom he already beat with ease, atleast dp has decent grappling and is overall a better fighter with a better resume and was coming of 4 camps preparing for good grapple before fighting islam, dan would just get folded again, rather see him match charles which would be a good fight

So 15 seconds of ground and pound is worth more than nearly getting knocked out and finished? Other than those 2 key moments the majority of the round was tightly contested. Dan's moment in the last minute was the most significant and damaging moment of the round. Go back and watch, the only moment of dominance and damage from Gamrot was a short amount of time landing ground and pound, that does not over rule a knockdown to a serverly rocked opponent holding on for dear life. Use some common sense.
