This parodies stand-up comedy so well at parts that not all of me wants to believe it's a parody. Half the viewers sure as fuck don't. Pure fucking gold
this standup special sent me into a dark depth of depression and despair from which I have not yet returned most haunting was the interaction with the fans, a beautiful woman so clearly attracted to him, his painful response, inability to return, his slowly hollowed out demeanor and increasingly sallow replies, followed by peekaboo and tickling, before this I found myself laughing and enjoying satire but then these scenes were followed by a quite terrible sadness and emptiness in me, I found myself watching these two scenes together for many hours over and over on a later day, studying every word and movement returning to his small town ...... by the end of this video I felt the most desperate and immediate tiredness, a great need to sleep, and lay in bed for hours at around mid day, not finding the energy to rise for food or for any reason from this sleep until well past nightfall at which point I found myself wandering out of doors before returning once more to sleep, this pattern continued for some number of days, how many I could not say for certain I do not know when I will recover from this or whether recovery is still a possibility
I have never seen spoof standup like this before. Interesting... and doing an hour long special of it takes a certain kind of sarcastic dedication that I don't think anyone in their right mind has these days. I really hate it, but in a good way. Please don't make any more of these. :)
+Johnny2 Fingerz I think this video was loosely inspired by Kyle Mooney's work. Watch his video "Bruce Chandling" it's nowhere near as long or experimental as this but it's just as good.
I think this is hilarious, it's even funnier the second time you watch it. It is not as easy as it seems to pull this gag off where you are trying to be so bad your funny and this guy pulls it off very well. I love the crowd reaction shots.
Sascha Stanton-Craven Are u serious?? He is just mentioning shows names and making fun of ppl in the audience, how is he finny exactly, just waist 4 minutes of my life
I'm so glad I read the comments. I knew something was off and I'm just like "this is the weirdest fucking special I've ever seen." But now that I get it this is fucking genius
I like when he just lists off shows for 5 minutes. That is definitely a hack comedian go-to. The dramatic water bottle guzzling at the end of that made me laugh
it blows my mind how many people have IQs so low that they don't get the intention and genius of this. is it just that most of the people commenting are not native english speakers? what is the problem here? this is great stuff. it was so refreshing and deeply engaging to see a study on the medium of stand up comedy dissected and analysed in this way. it's fascinating.
I think he should ham it up more - like make it even more ridiculous, do some prop gags, encounter microphone problems, technical difficulties, physical ailments, trip over the mic, etc. have some more planted hecklers, He addressed just about every generic hack story/joke I've heard from most standup comics - except drugs, politics, and racism. If he improves his act with those subject matter, he's got a pretty good act. Well he kinda covered color with the "olives and grapes" shtick - i think that part was great, but it was too short and I feel like it can be lost on listeners without a second viewing. And yeah you haters are right... this might not have been possible without the paid audience/laugh tracks... but I that's part of the gag, BITCH! OHHHHH!!!! DARNUSH?!? DARNUSH?!?
This is like a nightmare where all the funny stuff is gone from the world and people are laughing just because a guy is talking random words to them in a place called "a comedy club" where you are supposed to laugh,
