OH MY GOD why does it take SO long to start the game?! I had to fast forward until ACTUAL gameplay started! And they're just talking instead of making their normal jokes and it's over an hour long! I don't have that time or attention span! Unfortunately the only Game Grumps video I disliked because it's not the normal content and is just boring haha

@@fuzzyotterpaws4395 I get it's boring but like, the guys are meeting a Game Design legend who the grumps (danny especially) idolized. Of course they're gonna be on their best behavior. They give you tons of entertaining content so why when they want to do something cool for themselves for once you get all uppity and selfish? If you didn't enjoy the episode then sorry, but what's the point in leaving such a comment and even giving the video a thumbs down? Seriously, not cool.

I was thinking about this the WHOLE TIME. Arin became a fly on the wall, which is so out of character for him. He knew what this was for Dan hahah

In Arins defense, it seems like he had some description of medication in him. Some may say benadryl, sounded like gummies to me, but he did right either way.

As someone with ADHD I can hear his internal monologue going, it’s way easier to pay attention when you have two stimuli

My favourite part was him trying not to say anything too R18 when things didn't go his way.

I forget which guest it was, but I thought he had fallen into some sort of deep depression with a previous guest until I realized he was just being respectful and letting them talk. It really recolored the whole interaction in my head once I figured out what he was doing! I'm glad Dan is such a huge fan of Roberta so the dialogue keeps flowing and it's clear she's very much welcome in this case. It's interesting how Arin can be so bombastic and personable most of the time and then to hear one of the rare moments when he doesn't quite know how to interact because it seems so opposite to his personality, but really this is just one of his "I like your coat. Uh-huh. Uh-huh. Uh-huh." moments.

I both relate to this feeling and commend the both of them for allowing her so much space to speak about what she wished to, because her commentary was interesting and wholesome. I feel like oftentimes my brain is trying to fire on too many cylinders and it's hard to focus on a slower, fleshed out conversation on account of me being unable to keep my mouth shut 😅

A friend of mine came over and I showed him a game I already finished. I almost immediately got to a place I wasn't supposed to be in yet and couldn't get out of because I skipped the place that would give me an ability. So the only way to get out was to restart the whole game because I wasn't even at point in the game to reload a save. I have so much more respect for Arin now and I have no idea how Arin does it, because apparently I can't even joke around with a friend through the intro/tutorial of a game I've already beaten without royally messing up, let alone have full conversations and run a whole show while beating a game.

It's so refreshing honestly, to see a person of older age talking about video games from an intellectual point of view, as a real, true industry. Her "game history" talk was so true.

There’s a Netflix documentary where they interview Roberta and Ken (unfortunately I’ve forgotten the name) and when she begins to talk about Colossal Cave Adventure, you instantly see her spark to life with excitement. She gets a big piece of paper and maps out the environment and you can see she’s absolutely loving diving back into it again. It’s just so wholesome and cool.

He sounded completely and utterly uninterested in everything that went on here; like he wished he were anywhere else. Arin's my favorite so it makes me wonder why he actually gave off that vibe this time.

He was probably walking on eggshells; he likely felt he couldn't be his usual grump self and shit on the game if it was something so important to the other half of the show.

I thought he sounded a bit hoarse/congested like he might have a cold. That or the mic quality was off, but Dan and Roberta sounded fine.

@@fuzzyotterpaws4395 I asked Roberta why she took so long to get started. She said she was super-nervous, and when she's nervous she has a tendency to just ramble. She calmed down after a bit and they started playing the game. It can be intimidating to do something that you know will be viewed by so many people.

Even I, a late 2000’s kid, can agree whole heartedly. I fell in love with Grimfandango Remastered but never knew why until I picked up Ross and Dans playthrough of Sierra Games back in 2017. Seeing the effort, time and imagination of what made up Sierra On-Line’s games made me fall in love instantly with them and helped realize my love for the whole genre of Point and Clicks. That being said, seeing a whole another perspective of the birth of PC gaming by one of the creators is absolutely wonderful and so awesome. It has seriously made my life! I’m glad I finally watched GG back in 2016-2017 and found these old gems. They’ve shaped my life and made me fond of a life I never had or experienced. I bring up stuff all the time that people my age just don’t know- it’s a bit of a surreal thing tbh. And It’s dumb I know but it’s so true! If I ever show something to my kids, it’ll be this and will continue to show them to friends I meet! People who say stuff like “I don’t play games more than 50 years old” shouldn’t harp on those little details because a good game is a good game no matter the generation. Point and Click games have proved that to me. I’m not wise or anything, I’m just speaking of experience, hell I’m barely out of HS but the memories I’ve created from gaming and the internet is insane. Side note, I feel like a lot of people should do more research on how their own interests came to be and how that interest came to be. That’s what I accidentally did and it really impacted the few hobby’s I’ve have. But maybe that’s just me, the internet and gaming world really are fascinating. Sorry for being so long winded, whoever read this, my hats go off to you and I hope you have or have had a good experience like I do. Also, I am still waiting for GG to play Grimfandango!!

She sounds youthful, energetic, sharp and brilliant. Her voice is downright spritely.

Went through a big historic preservation swell of fear when Flash, and all those games from my childhood, started not being playable. Lots of people stepped up to help, and most of Kongregate and ArmorGames were alright, but I have kept those fears.

With how much we were taught that the internet is forever, I think it's easy for us to forget that in the end all digital media will disappear without preservation. Digital media is, after all, nothing but information stored on intricate and fragile physical material.

@@fatcat1414 exactly. People assume it’ll always be there but like someone said above look what happened to all those Flash games. Unless you keep a physical hard copy of something (in any form) it can very easily vanish from the internet. Even IF you have that physical hard copy there’s no telling what could happen to that as well. Plus it’s super easy for digital files to become corrupted in some way or form.

​@@KairuHakubi No because it continues on from even before that point that women face discrimination in the game development workplace; they're often not recognised as much as Williams is. Some women get turned down straight away for jobs and even playing video games face a lot of shit from men who play video games, literal harassment. Be it through livestream chat or text/voice chat in a game etc. It's the same concept that women face in general in the work place, it tends to be that game development or computer based roles in general heighten that discrimination in the workplace because it's heavily dominated and set up by men. You could also get into how women are treated in education and such but I've already written enough crap.
