“Leo” is the last of the Interstellar Space pieces for solo guitar that I started over a month ago. The process of going through these has been enlightening and enjoyable for me. Hopefully someone else enjoys it too. :) This may be the most challenging one (for me at least) but there are some somewhat familiar things from other pieces. There is an overall harmonic approach that is symmetrical in nature and loosely addressed also a clear melodic theme in and out of the piece. There are also some earlier live versions out there where the development of the overall concept can be heard before it was recorded with Rashad Ali in 67’. I play the main theme and address Tranes’ ideas sometimes but the idea is to play my own improvisation while staying true to the concept.
