Dan Phillips - Guitar
Mars, the fourth solo guitar piece from Coltrane’s Interstellar Space. This one is different in that it has no clear melody but it does have the similar symmetry harmonically to some of the other pieces that needs to be addressed. Of course it has the usual fire and wide open creativeness of the other pieces on the album as well. I chose to reference Tranes’ ideas at times and adhere to the overall shape but the improvisation is my own.
