Had my ST for 7 years now. Cracked a liner on my 165,000 mile motor so I'm not bothered about it at all. I got my value for money out of that engine! Time to tinker I thought. Bought another engine from BD performance on an exchange basis, they need two of the three main parts of engine to be ok to avoid the surcharge. Block, head, bottom end. They check over the engine they supply and fit a block mod along with a new timing kit (plus a new water pump at extra cost) and they clean up the mating surfaces like exhaust ports, oil filter ports, intake manifold ports etc. With the head being off for the block mod, I presume they check the head for warp and obviously they would fit a new head gasket and bolts. The sump was off too so they check things are ok on the bottom end. All in all a good deal for just over 2 grand. Anyway, I swapped the motor over myself and it's been on the dyno at Durham remaps in North East of England and they got it running 312HP 483NM torque so I'm happy for now!
@@parkpondcarp I bought the car to 'funk' around with, LMAO. I'm no mechanic just do it for the learning experience and reward buzz. If it breaks again I'll fix it again. What's the problem? It's not a mode of transport for me, I have another vehicle for that. This is a 19 year old Focus that would have ended up on the scrapheap if I had not come along to fix it up. I like these cars. When I take it out, it puts a smile on my face. No, it's not a fast car by today's standards, but it's still a lot of fun and sounds the dog's bollocks. It's been to a garage once since I bought it, and they charged me £165 to fit a replacement front suspension arm lol. (I've since Poly bushed the arms and fitted bolt-in ball ends) I would hate to think what the labour costs would have been up to present for all the work I have done on the car. But anyway, it's not for them to do anymore. It's my baby. I enjoy funking about with it!👍👍
Those mk2 ST are beasts, just bought one two months ago. In love with it. It’s running around 300+ BHP I think, highly modified but feels like a rocket. They definitely pin you into the seats!!! Sound from the engine and exhaust are unmatched !! 🚗 💨
only beaten by the sound of the original audi quattro or the italian 5 cylidner turbo engine from the 90s, the italian version sounds very smooth and refined in comparison to the volvo lump.
and with the italian 5 pot aswell as not having gaps between the bores and getting a block mod to stop liners cracking the turbo is located at the front near the rad and intercooler unlike the focus/volvos having the turbo near the firewall where no one can see it on show. im on a stage 3 hyrbid turbo and stage 4 remap on a Garrett gt28 series 400bhp, but ive turned it down on the apexi avcr to 350whp. whats your focus running mate?

Enjoyed this video, mine is very similar spec to this hybrid turbo but with a stage 3 airtec cooler and big boost pipe kit. Mines forged to and made 394bhp and 400 ft lbs
I own a stage 2 xr5 here in australia, nice cars, sound so good. Though i also own a 240whp Hyundai Getz 1.6ltr 22psi E85 manual. Last night i absolutely hosed a stage 3 XR5. RS hybrid turbo, injectors, intake, clutch and 4" down pipe. My car only weighs 940kg with me in it. We must of raced 15-20times with the same outcome.

Not sure now I'm afraid as DMB Graphics were the only licensed Ford gel badge stockists but they don't seem to do them. Most companies won't do the Ford logo due to copyright.
