Jesus Christ Superstar is a rock opera, so even if Dan is killing this, the song contains some screaming in the original.

Dan is so incredible! This one is absolutely top notch. His voice, his intonation, his passion, his acting, his screams, his EVERYTHING... is perfect! I saw Jesus Christ Super Star when it first came out and loved it. It anyone ever does a remake, I hope they call Dan to play the part of Jesus! Thank you for your reaction. I've seen this rock opera many times and by many different singers. Ted Neely was always my favorite until I heard Dan Vasc sing Gethsemane and now this is the best version of this song I've ever heard!

Dan sang this song exactly the way it was performed by Ted Neely 1971 in the film. I loved this Rock opera since I first saw it in cinema at this time - and Dan does it perfect...

Dan has the ability to become the song. His voice and performance in this is incredible. This is a stage worthy performance and his voice is right up there with best opera singers. Many thanks for reacting to this one. Dan records his vocals in a room in his house. Then he records the video in his garage studio. From what I understand, there are no windows in the garage and he stands in front of a black backdrop.

Outstanding performance and vocal masterpiece by Dan. He is a natural at acting. His I'll Make a Man Out of You and Burn Butcher Burn are two other examples of his skills. Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts on this with us. I always enjoy your reactions. I would love for you to check out his cover of Black Wind Fire and Steel. It has an incredible final note that goes on forever and a fantastic guitarist, as well.

I haven't seen the Film. First thing I saw was Dan performing this song. And it is perfect. Than I whent to see the original from the film and it was dull and nothing special compared to Dan. He IS jesus with all his fears and humanity. I love it!

If you must compare, then listen to Ted Neely. He portrayed Jesus in the movie and then for many years on and off Broadway. Also for classical music listen to Dan's version of Nessun Dorma. ❤

Dan did sing this just like Ted Neely did back in the day; including the screams. I may be biased (ok, yes I am 😂) but I think Dan’s performance is better than Neely or Gillan. If you want to hear Dan perform true opera without any metal, check out Nessun Dorma by Puccini. It’s absolutely phenomenal. Hail VascNation ❤

No, he didn't do the film. He is a West End and Broadway superstar. He performed G at Andrew Lloyd Webber's 50th birthday, as well as many concerts over the years. He is simply incredible,
