Dana International is a well acclaimed Israeli pop singer. Dana is a Transgender Woman, and she pronounces messages of freedom, liberation, fun and love through the language of her music, which varies from dance and house dance floor tracks to pop and ballads. Her international breakthrough occurred after winning the 1998 Eurovision with the song Diva. She has released eight albums and three additional compilation albums, positioning herself as one of Israel's most successful musical acts ever.

Wonderful interview. Gay Byrne was a legend in Irish television and showed great respect to Dana International here

Ah ireland was changing big time socially in those few years - you could tell by the very warm reception she got. Couldn’t imagine that interview just ten years before hand

Uncle Gay did have a couple on (not 10 years earlier but several years) where the woman was transgender. From what I recall he asked them all the (decent) questions cis people always have for trans people and the entire country had them answered all at once. I was very young at the time but I remember him treating them with respect and gratitude

Fun fact: Dana first tried for Eurovision in ‘95 and finished second. If she’d won, she would, in fact, have competed in Ireland!

@@prageruwu69 Dana International and people like Blaire White: transsexuals, no problem with them. Trans activists who say anyone can be a woman and be in women’s spaces even if they haven’t transitioned at all, bad. How much simpler do I need to make it for you?

Dana is a true transsexual, she had to live tough times in the 80s and 90s, she's a real one. The ones we have now are mostly fakers who seek attention
