Placed 3rd with 165 points - Eurovision 1998 - Malta - Chiara The One That I Love (Jason Cassar/ Sunny Aquilina) - Copyright PBS Malta/Eurovision/Authors. All Rights Reserved.
I adore Chiara's voice. Her best attempt and she really deserved to win that year,so much better song than Israel and UK.Her song from 2005 is magical too.
1998 was a very glamorous Eurovision contest, were singers had back up singers and musicians making their performances look very full and exciting. Then this woman comes on with no back up singers, no musicians and blows the roof off with her song 'The One That I Love' To this day it is still my no1 favourite songs from Eurovision song contest.
i agree its one of my favourites as an Irishman, I JUST about remember watching as a young fella and was blown away by her. she would have come second but for the terrific 'Where are you?' by UKs Imaani.
@@FannomacritaireSuomi So true, Malta was one of those countries making full use of English as a big advantage. Look at it now... I can't believe this song got a better score than NL.
Malta should have won this year! This is a beautiful song, beautifully sung and her voice is just amazing! This song gives me goose bumps when I heard it! It really moves me because the message in the song strikes a chord with me!!!!!!!
Derek Nicholl According to wikipedia she actually did. O__O Long after when they realized one country gave their 12 point incorrectly to Israel. They correct it weeks after and Dana International landed 1 point behind Malta. I guess it was too late to change the winner. Awkward.
@@ErikDaVinci What happened in 1998 was Spain messed up its televote and Germany scored 0 when it should have received the 12. When they corrected the vote Israel lost 2 points (ie a 12 down to a 10) and the UK and Malta lost 1 point , so the winner wasn't affected at all,and Israel were still clear winners.
Just love this song. Isn’t it great to see how she grows in confidence as she sings too - brilliant performance. Even a key change for the Eurovision cognoscenti.
@Lora Jessica originally from aCuba, moved to America then I was asked to come to the Great Britain for my dancing. My sister is very light on her hoofs but I was selected because I am looking so joung and I dance on egg shells and they don't break
A pesar que en mi país no es muy conocido el festival de Eurovisión, gracias a esta plataforma he podido ver las canciones participante desde el comienzo y está en una de las que me gusta y más la interpretación de Chiara, excelente.
