Exactly. He should have retired a while ago. Mission more than accomplished. He got the titles, the fans, the millions. Only reason he keeps fighting is out of pride, but he shouldn't care about what people will say. He should retire cause there's no way he's as hungry as he was when he was coming up

The difference is fighters get punched in the face. Quarterback is the most protected position in NFL. Money doesn't change people, it just amplifies how a person is.

Unc…fighting in a cage is far more dangerous to your health than playing QB. A lot of people would quit after getting 100 Million and enjoy life. MMA, UfC is not playing football. One kick or one punch and you end in a wheelchair.

Floyd Mayweather should be the shining example of this. A combat sport for 20 years, fought other hall of fame fighter regularly into his late 30s already with loads of money, tougher competition than Canelo fought. Stayed maniacally dedicated for two decades. Canelo, Cotto, Pacquiao at the end , and two wars with a violent fighter like Maidana… underrated

I wonder how these people, who are supposedly well versed in the universe of sports, get away with comparing combat sports to any sport that envolves balls. Waking up at 2 am to do cardio to prepare for a fight is different from waking up at 2 am to do cardio to prepare for a football match are VERY different

People talk about Connor not coming back because of all the money he’s made, but to me that isn’t an excuse when all the richest football, basketball, soccer, boxing athletes have had that kind of money for years but yet they’re still putting in all the hard work and time to continue to be the best. If he wants to be considered one of the goats he needs to be a little more active
