Having grown up on helpless princesses, I LOVE seeing powerful roles for women. Casting doesn’t always match up, but Danai never disappoints! Excellent work. I’m looking forward whatever else you bring forward.
Wow, I hadn't really thought of my affection for roles/characters with STRONG women being a result of being indoctrinated with "helpless princesses"! Seems so obvious!
Rick is the reason I watched The Walking Dead, Michonne is the reason I fell in love with it. She is my favorite character! Them together is everything.
She's such an amazing soul. The One Who Live episode 4 was absolutely amazing..... The whole season so far is literally the best in the whole zombie universe in history. She and Andy are phenomenal actors.
Beautiful and glowing. Always love to hear her speak with such grace, intelligence, thoughtfulness and integrity. Someone mentioned the arms and 💯 but her smile people😍.
She is such a work of art! And since she mentioned it (though not by name), I saw her play “Eclipsed” with her and Lupita on Broadway back in 2016, and it was just breathtaking
Proudly Zimbabwean viewing Danai on Daily show,I wonder how it would have been with Trevor Noah. AM sure he was going to mention"Africa babes can feel your African blood flowing through to me"😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Desi's take on deadpan is educational. Horror in film reflects and intensifies the horror in society, which can be significantly reduced by public health measures that strike continually at the root causes of horror. However, Desi and Danai are delightfully optimistic.
I think most people feel powerless to change the horrors they face. Obviously voting once every four years is never going to change anything in a meaningful way. The real vote in our consumer society is how you spend your money, and in THIS we are all more powerful than most people realize. Boycott is activism. Consider joining me in a boycott of meat, dairy, and eggs where possible for you. These slaughter based industries are firmly held in the right wing spectrum, further right than you might think. All animal agriculture hinges on the right wing exploitation of the NONhuman female reproductive system. Sound familiar? Animal rights is a fundamental issue in modern society because nonhuman animals have always been the lowest socioeconomic class on Earth. Only humans can liberate animals. Only by liberating the lowest among us will we liberate ourselves. Rights are intersectional. Jon Stewart knows what I'm talking about because his wife already runs a farm animal sanctuary where rescued (from us) animals can go and live out the rest of their lives in peace without threat of commodification. Food is fundamental. If you're paying the right wing three times a day for their products of cruelty it should come as no surprise they're able to flood the elections with cash and buy supreme court "justices" like Harlow buying Clarence.
@Somethinghumble Vegetarianism, exercise, environmental care, and farming practices that include the well-being of livestock are worthy endeavors for individuals and groups to pursue.
I'll admit that i read the comics years ago and steered clear of the series when it came out. But when the free channel Walking Dead Universe caught my eye last year, i ended up binge watching the whole series on Netflix and getting AMC Plus to watch all the spin-offs (thought i still find Fear the Walking Dead hard to watch). I can't wait for this new series next week with Danai as Michonne!!😊😊
I worked at a daycare when the walking dead was on and this 18 month old kept bitting people and for the life of me and everyone at the center could not figure out why until I told her family I have to basically carry her all day to keep her from nipping other children and they said she watches the walking dead with her cousins every Sunday lol I can laugh about it now
We get a shortened interview here on RU-vid for Comedy Central. Idk if the actual interview was longer but CC and/or Paramount aren't going to give us everything that the paid audience receive, not for free anyway.
The beginning seasons are all on Netflix as well if you have the no commercial account. All the beginning and spin-offs (Fear the Walking Dead, Dead City, Daryl Dixon and etc) are on AMC Plus as mentioned😊.
like alot of people, there was a point in time where i absolutely LOVED TWD. but season 2 happened and i couldn't be bothered. you can only make so many episodes about zombies until it gets repetitive like a soap opera...

This show is the best it have ever been.Ive watched the daily show since the 10's (lol, 2010) and i love the new format with the rotation/diversity. My only suggestion is kicking Jon Stewart out, lol jk.
Zombification has actually been documented with ants. In the early episodes of the sibling series Fear the Walking Dead, there is a comparison to drug use, though that was more explaining a little of why people were slow to react to the threat then the virology itself. Interestingly, though, IRL there is a drug labled the "zombie drug" because it is flesh eating (xylacine). Also, fentanyl abuse can make people do crazy things similar to a zombie... Anyway, in the original series, they lightly touch on the science in the first season. In the sibling series, some more of the science is touched on through questionable field trials. The spinoff World Beyond touches on a lot of the science, with clear indications of a lab innovation gone wrong, while the Daryl Dixon spin off touches on lab-created variants. Also, anything zombie is horror. Please look it up, along with science fiction. Just b/c it's not a "slasher" or supernatural film (e.g. ghost hauntings) nor makes you jump out of it seat doesn't mean it isn't horror. Also, being a part of one genre does not make it impossible up be a part of another genre as well. It has all the makings of both science fiction and horror.
Oh dear, hey TDS - the optics on your order of hosts is troubling and pretty much supports the frustration of Roy Wood Jr - you couldn't have 1 poc host between Jordan & Desi? 😬 Yikes .... Well, this is very Comfortable, isn't it? 🫣🙄
