Great work on the little fridge. When I lived in Ontario I wanted to do something like this. We were making beer at one of those you-brew shops anyway, and thought instead of bottling the beer just take it home! Back then I lived with other Army roommates and we would go through 6 x 24's of beer in 2 weeks! Now that I'm living alone, I don't think it will be used enough; or used too much by just me! Interested in Part 2!

+Chris Collier Thanks Chris, I know what you mean. My son and his friends help keep the beer flowing.

What’s the aluminum for Mike? Insulation?
@mustang774

J.D. the aluminum foil tape is just used to seal the exposed foam insulation where I had cut the plastic away.....Take care, Mike.

+Jim Cyr Thanks Jim, your's works and that is all you need. I was hoping to get this in the living room. The boss vetoed that suggestion so now it is relegated to the semi finished rec room.

Just stumbled across this video. I have the same fridge and I'm looking at converting it into a nitro cold brew dispenser. My question is this: Would I be able to drill my tower hole closer to the front of the unit without damaging internal cooling components?

Thanks for stopping by and asking a question. I thought I answered this on my iPod a few days ago but I guess it didn't send. Sorry for the late reply. In this fridge all the cooling elements are in the back of the unit. The only issue I see is that the light and thermostat are forward of where I located my tower. You may be able to move the thermostat and light to the side if you extend the wires. I'm wondering why you would want to move the tower forward. It may be possible but you will have to take a closer look. There are only a few small screws holding the light and thermostat in place so just remove them to see what space you have to work with. I would be interested to hear how you make out with this project. it sounds interesting......Take care, Bluefin. 🍻

Thanks. The reason I wanted to move it forward is that I use the top for holding other things like bar tools, bitters bottles, and cocktail jiggers. I feared they would get in the way of the spouts being in front of the tower but I should be able to make it work.

@@jeffgerards That makes sense. Please let me know if you are able to move it forward., someone else may want to do the same....Take care, Bluefin.

@@mustang774 I decided to leave it in the back. I could have extended the wiring and moved the light and control unit back but I felt uncomfortable doing so because I didn’t know the path of the wires once they passed the hole into the space above the liner ceiling and I didn’t want to hit one with my hole saw. If I did that, it would have ruined the whole fridge cause there is no access to that space.

@@jeffgerards Good idea to go with what worked for others. Enjoy your Kegerator 🍻

You giving that beer a name Bluefin??
@mustang774
@mustang774 9 лет назад
+Tim's Bushcraft and Outdoors Yes I am. The keg on the right has my first all grain brew in it. Here in Newfoundland, if something is not right, we call it "shagged up" Well that brew was not right at all, I made a few mistakes when brewing it hence the name I put on it. "Shagged up Session IPA" The beer turned out Awesome! even if it was shagged up. I have been brewing kits and partial grain kits for a while now. I should have part 2 uploaded in a few days. It was good to hear from you my friend....Take care, Bluefin (Mike)
