7:18 this is a really beautiful interpretation of the lyrics, the line goes _Because they’re such common words I was worried they wouldn’t sound sincere; I was looking for something better than ‘thank you’ that I couldn’t even tell you ‘thank you’_ in the choreo, Hoshi and Jun are in the centers of the formation and the members are in a kind of flower-like formation. their hands represent the “words” and when Hoshi & Jun try to pick them, they fall away from them and in the end they aren’t able to pick any of them. i really really love this part a lot bc of how beautifully they symbolize the lyrics;;;;
@@ElliottNewVillage There's something else that you should know, at 4:41, there's a reason why the members stood up like such formation, everytime they did that they made a T H X letter if u see it from above (aerial view) so not only they include sign language but a message through their choreo as well. One of their choreographer revealed this in twitter because nobody had noticed for like months😅 Here's a link to see what i mean mobile.twitter.com/971107xu/status/1079280522214268928
“They look like fish” Hshsjssh not the comment I was expecting When this song first came out, I felt really connected to it. It just felt personal and intimate and I’m sure other carats understand the feeling. I was like a proud mom.
😂 it definitely reminded me of flying fish jumping out the water in sync haha Thank you luft for tuning in and your words on this perormance. It’s inspiring to see how much dance and music can come through to others.
I'm so glad you did your research and were able to talk about the sign language and even the THX which a lot of people don't know about! I enjoyed your commentary as always ^^ I'd also like to point out that despite being a music group I know of/have heard of at least two or three deaf carats who are fans of seventeen for their choreography and of course their personalities as well. to me that makes the use of sign language even more meaningful because they aren't forgetting about the fans who can't hear their thanks through the music. even though I wouldn't say this is my favorite seventeen song, it's definitely the most meaningful to me. I can feel how genuine they are whenever I listen to the song or see the choreography and I feel like I'm being personally spoken to. I really think they achieved exactly what they wanted to with this song
Although Thanks seems to be an underrated song or era for some people, it will always be a special song to me. The sweet lyrics, the elegant moves, the message behind the choreography it all touch my heart. 🤧😭 I feel loved by the boys and feel like I should give my everything to support them..
SVT had had Choreo in the past where one starts where another one left off. Pretty U ends where Aju Nice begins. DWC ends where Without You begins and Without You ends where Clap begins. But with Thanks they started and end the same-with a promise. Seeing that it’s also a song dedicated to their fans, it just means so much more. Kinda like saying, “we started together, we end together, in a loop of promise and trust that is unbreakable”. Just my interpretation and thoughts. 😅
svt and nuest w heaven! also did you know that the choreo for dont wanna cry, without you, and clap link to each other? without you is a b-side in the same album as clap
I really love your videos about Seventeen 😭 I also want to support you but I'm too poor to do so 😂 If you have time then you can also analyse any Seventeen Performance Unit songs or BooSeokSoon (BSS) song Just Do It!!! I love youuuu (your haircut is cute)
Yaaass I’m so happy you finally got to this song! Hoping for Lilili Yabbay soon? ;) Hope you get to more groups too in the future. Keep up the good work man!!
Thanks Elliot for this awesome analysis... You always deliver good points from them and make people see every detail of their choreography so they can appreciate it more.. Love your reaction & also thanks for supporting Seventeen!
SEVENTEEN's 'promise' choreography is very meaningful! They are wearing their own ring on their ring fingers. The 'promise' choreography is about their solidarity and love for their fans.
Can you also react or analyze to NU'EST W and SEVENTEEN's HEAVEN? 🙏🙏 Please thank you so much ♥️♥️ I'M AMAZED THAT YOU KNOW THE SECRET MESSAGES OF THIS CHOREO 😍😍
THANKS is my all time favorite song of seventeen. Not just bcos it is an amazing song but the meaning is really hitting me hard every single time Im hearing it esp when im watching the video. Its like a song that represents how we, Carats, mean so much to our boys and also vice-versa. I am more than thankful to them for making us feel like we are someone that's very very important. They always think of us first whenever, wherever. Its not just and idol-fan relationship. It is more than that. Both seventeen members and carats have a special place in the hearts of one another. Indeed our internal home. Anyways, thank you for this reaction! I really really love how you analyze seventeen dance choreos and how you love it. Hope to see more seventeen reactions on your channel!
I love this so much and thanks. Your content always worth the wait. Also this is the first choreo SVT work with Look. Look praise how SVT make their work in the perspective of fans so you saying how thanks will look in concerts is so true . I have been in their concerts and I will honestly say without bias you will enjoy it with any seat. Many casual fans became hardcore fans with just attending one concert of them. SVT is a performance group and they always give stages that are total package and better when they do it live.
You are definitely the best choreography analysis, you always take time to talk about detailed movements and also you pause the video when you are talking about the choreo. Thank you for giving us quality content, elliot!!!! ❤️
i'm so glad that elliott fixed the audio of the video he is reacting to. now i the pitch of the audio is not too low and i can clearly hear the music they are dancing to. keep up on making great dance analysis videos!!!
i won't sleep on you Elliot like what i am for SVT. By watching your videos i learned some of the terms like blocking, texture, dynamic and such. And also I must add that i became really proud of being a Carat and proud for my boys because of your reaction videos. Love you Elliot
Your analysis is so legit and professional! There are other youtubers who make "dancer reacts to" but they don't really talk about the subtle and hidden stuff that should be appreciated, like the levels or the roll off for example. They only point out the obvious parts that everyone can see but not the one that you see. You're fire just by commenting man 🙏🏻
I think you might have the best dance analysis quality on RU-vid. You actually did your research and you're detail oriented too. Seventeen is known for making little gestures in their choreography as if they're telling a story with the choreo, so I'm glad you can notice little things like those. You're always so fun too with your explanations, looking forward to your seventeen contents in the future! :))
This song never failed to make me cry. And since you've done this video elliott, i think more carats or people will know the meaning of the song better and they will appreciate Seventeen's sincerity in making their choreos. SEVENTEEN is the only group that i fell in love cause of their artistry and passion. Btw, nice to see u again, we're really starting to miss your videos.
i’ve watched them on a concert on top level and i can’t describe how amazing they are even from afar. they perform for everyone 😊 they are on a world tour this time and i hope you could see them perform live they are the best 👍
I love watching these, especially because I’ve found myself obsessing so much over choreo and Seventeen’s choreo never DOESN’T hit hard. Your analyses always emphasize stuff I can’t put into words! Ugh I just love these. And you look into the minute bits, like the handcuffs part of Good to Me, I just love your videos dude. Digging your hair, also
seventeen is the first kpop group i ever got into back in 2015 with their debut, around this era is when i started to fizzle out and become more of a casual fan of kpop but this song always makes me feel something. i'm so thankful for seventeen, all i remember about 2015 is it being one of the happiest years of my life. it makes my heart warm seeing other people love and appreciate them as much as i did (and still do, just quietly) i love this, and i love them
Another great analysis, Elliot! Thank you! Thanks is a song that I love so much both choreo and music wise. And throughout 2018 where Thanks was released, although it was released earlier that year, they never stopped improving it. Throughout 2018, SVT had made many adjustments to their Thanks stage performances. If you have the chance, do take a look at their Thanks awards performances. You will see that they added an extended dance break during the 2nd chorus. And for one performance, Dino actually got a solo dance (KBS song festival performances (?)) And for their 2018 AAA performance, they performed Thanks like a ballad first before getting into the dance performance plus you got those amazing aerial shots too! Thanks is a performance where it just looks different every time or you noticed something different every time. And I feel likes it’s a performance where not only does it utilize their 13 members well, they also create a choreo where it’s just so full of grace and power all in one!
Performance Team - Lilili Yabbay Seventeen and Nu'est - Heaven Thank you for doing choreo analysis on Seventeen so much! It's so nice to see someone who appreciates Seventeen's talent and their attention when it comes to choreographing their own stuff !
The first time I saw this choreography, I sobbed. It is truly touching. They always put their all into everything they do. That one moment where they lifted Seungkwan up was when I lost it lol. This is my ultimate favorite Seventeen choreography (although the others are strong contenders lol).
Thanks made me cry the first couple of times I watched it, especially because of the lyrics and the sign language parts. Your analysis is so great, like always. I'm happy that people who don't know about seventeen are able to understand their choreographies thanks to your videos. Thank you so much! I hope you'll react to Heaven by Seventeen & Nu'est W one day, it's really satisfying to watch.
HOW DO I FEEL ABOUT THIS PERFORMANCE! so full of heart and feelings!!!! honestly, i didn't appreciate this dance at first, but the more i had to think about it, the more i realize how i am in awe of its vulnerability and tenderness.
i remember when the mv and dance practice came out. i was so emotional watching them and i still am till this day. i'm so proud to be a carat! also i always enjoy your reactions! 😄
this is hands down my favorite seventeen choreo. i locked onto seventeen HARD bc their style and skills in dance are pretty much unmatched, and this era of thanks was the time when i first found seventeen. i'm so beyond grateful you pointed out certain decisions in this choreo like the use of "thank you" and "promise" in KSL in the dance; hoshi likes to use KSL to inspire moves in their dances quite a bit, like including the KSL for "pretty" in pretty u, which i find absolutely genius and also sweet for any hearing impaired fans. the one thing you missed - which i don't blame you for, it's kind of deep into seventeen knowledge - is another reference within the "promise" inspired gestures. the other significance of hooking their pinkies is that every member of seventeen has matching pinky rings that are essentially a promise to each other that they will stay together as the proud members of seventeen. they never take them off, and have even said "if i remove it, that would mean i'm not a member of seventeen anymore." they were awarded the rings when they were about to debut in a very emotional ceremony with their families, and every year since they get new rings. so not only are the opening/closing pose of the hooked pinkies as well as the moves at 6:16 / 9:11 / 9:37 a promise to the audience and fans, but to each other as well.
This song made me cry with the first listen without lyrics, then I cried listening to it with the lyrics, but the most impressive thing is that before that, I watched the dance practice, so I watched the dance but I didn't know what they were talking about... And I cried. Just from the beautiful way they portrayed the lyrics, that made me so emotional and teary eyed, and it is the first time ever that I cry just by watching someone dancing to a song that I don't even know the meaning of. This performance and song are so powerful and emotional, and I'm so grateful to them for creating something so beautiful for their fans. And this comes from a new carat, that loves them already too much. Sorry for the long comment, to whoever that reads this till the end, thanks ❤
Thanks for your analysis! Thanks is my favorite song from Seventeen - I love the song, and even more I love the meaning :) You can feel how much these boys appreciate their fans, you really feel that your love for them isn't unrequited ❤️
I am not an expert at the dance or choreography but the first time I saw it, I felt their desperation through the movement, the desperation to utter the word thank you sincerely genuinely yet they still feel it lacks, doesn't represent enough what they wanna convey. I felt it through the movements and the repetition of "thanks, thanks, again thanks" in their lyric. I cried the first time I heard it.
hi, u gave really sharp and informative interpretation and i'm late, though i've seen thanks mv and practice video many times but i hear it only from you the t h x part, i was enlighten by you. i love svt and i'm looking forward for your dance analysis to kpop esp seventeen.
thank you Elliot for your analysis, I am a very passionate Carat and I love when people like you are talking about how amazing and smart etc ... our 13 boys are. I am so happy that people understand their work and appreciate their efforts. Hope you will go on discovering Seventeen talent !
I really appreciate your love for Seventeen ❤️❤️ I would like to recommend you to make another choreography analysis from Dino's Danceology. Dino made all the dance in his danceology video. Hope you enjoy all those videos.
Hey I'm not lazy now.. hahaha.. 😂I can't move on..LOL anyways I like your all analysis about our sebongs dance choreographies. GREAT JOB! 👌 hoping next "Don't Wanna Cry".. 😊
Finally the dance analysis I have been waiting from you. I appreciate it a lot Thank you for making me fall for them even more.. It's touching how they are very thoughtful and considerate to their fans.. If not for this we might never notice it. Can you please do analysis on OUR DAWN IS HOTTER THAN DAY? It's one of those svt choreos which have graceful movements instead of powerful ones
Thank you for your reaction. I really like your explanation. And I must say, Lilili yababy was amazing and perfect. seventeen's performance team danced perfectly. Heaven was another perfect performance of seventeen and Nuest w. Hope you can watch those videos.
ELLIOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT YOURE BACCCCCCCK YIEEE!! GOSH I MISSED YOUR REACTIONS SPECIALLY TO SEVENTEEN. LOVED LOVED LOVED THIS ANALYSIS OF YOURS!
