Will, you’re my guitar hero and the entire reason I play guitar. Thank you so much for being the musician and playing the music I would want to play if I was in your shoes. Never change brother.
FUCK no part 3 that sucks but I do agree that DGD is doing better than they ever have. Having Jonny back might damage them more than help them. They should at least make a song with Jonny, Kurt, and Tilian cause ooohh that would be lit.
Will Swan you are fucking awesome you are hardcore at guitar and own your own label like badasss bro keep writing hits homie they are incredible Dance Gavin Dance
I found this band with 'We Own the Night,' but didn't really give them a chance, because, for what seems like an experimental post-hardcore band, I thought that there was too much "experimental" and not enough "post-hardcore" for my tastes. When Mothership came out, my entire social circle was all over it, even people who I didn't know were DGD fans. I still didn't give them a shot though, so I didn't get to participate in the post-release mania. It wasn't until recently that I became obsessed, and, after giving each and every album a thorough listen, I can confidently say they are a top 3 band for me right now. So glad to hear that they're going in to the studio October 14th.
know this is an old comment, but i had a similar, yet opposite experience of you. i found them with we own the night and on the run and i assumed they were one of those super generic, super hook focused metalcore bands, a la too close to touch or crown the empire. i didnt get the experimental aspect since i assumed from the get go they were shitty. easily my favorite band of all time now, every album is near flawless
Okay so they kept saying 7 albums... Royal Ocean, DBM, Death Star, Happiness, DBM2, Acceptance Speech, Instant Gratification, TCS, Mothership... Instant Gratification was definitely 7 and Mothership was 9..? I understand if they don't want to count TCS, but.. Royal Ocean definitely counts? Unless they're not counting both Royal Ocean AND TCS..? Anyone else notice this?
So fucking happy he said no to DBM3 - apparently shunning the idea of it in Acceptance Speech wasn't enough that he has to outright say it here. They were steps forward in the past but they are so far beyond DBM that he's right, it would be going backwards now. I love DBM but people, seriously, move the fuck on. A band has to evolve. You release the same album 5 times, no one's going to listen to you anymore because it's nothing new.
Liamxd I could see dmb3 being a final farewell for the band whenever they decide to call it quits. Atleast that's my dream, featuring parts from all 3 different clean vocalists
Wait tho I thought mothership was their 8th album. acceptance speech being their 6th, instant gratification 7th, so mothership would be their 8th. I guess they aren't counting whatever I say is royal ocean...
