Hearing Abby's perspective now really drives home that the show's stressful format ruined her relationships with all the girls. The stress of being on camera, learning new routines every week, trying to do school, and making time for everything else was too much to handle...and that made the moms lose it...which ultimately led to Abby losing it (and saying things she shouldn't).

I hope Abby is well aware she can make a whole career on RU-vid reacting to every single episode

I always had negative feelings towards Abby despite knowing in the back of me head that the producers had something to do with it. But hearing her perspective really clarifies things. I think it’s good to speak out about this and actually say what happened .

My favourite abby quote is “those legs are about as straight as Elton John!” Its so funny

Maturing is realizing the producers where the bad guys

I really respect Abby for speaking about Christy and Chloe the way she did. Especially after their history. It takes a mature person to appreciate peoples strengths even after their relationship ended so poorly

honestly, just finished rewatching dance moms, and watching this and hearing Abby’s side of the story, as well as seeing her so happy and healthy makes me so happy. hope to see more of you soon!

I love how she is so respectful towards all the kids while reacting! Just goes to show how much of the show was fake and designed to come at her

this is what we call growth, self-reflection, and maturing. I had some issues with her and her harsh interaction with the students but I feel like I might need to wind back and cut her some slack after all those years.

I remember being in 8th grade and hearing her say “second is the first to lose.” I swear I’ve strived to be the very best at whatever I was doing ever since then. I’m not a dancer, but I’ve applied a lot of her teachings to my life and it’s helped me accomplish so much.

I think Abby is the true definition of tough love. You can see her dedication to these girls and how she wants them to be successful more than anything. She doesn’t sugarcoat the truth, and tells them how it is. And when it comes to the performance industry, there’s no other way to teach young people discipline and technique than using tough love. One of the entire methods of dance is discipline, control and professionalism. Abby taught that entirely and I feel like the kids who couldn’t handle it and the parents who were offended that their kids were crying weren’t cut out of professional dance material like they claimed. I hope you continue to react to the episodes, as I would love to see more of how you felt about the show. Much love!💕

I would like to see more of this. I always thought that as a teacher Abby was misunderstood and edited to be the bad guy. Her methods appeared harsh but we never saw everything. These girls were in class to be stars and Abby prepares them in all the aspects. Even preparing them for tough auditions and rehearsals.

Its refreshing to hear you talk about the kids like a teacher talks about their students instead of the weird coworker relationship that it became on the show

I mean there's plenty I disagree with about every single person including Abby but we have heard so much from everyone else thats it is quite cool to hear Abbys experience too with context and she's also talking about Dance it's self and being a teacher and it'd very I formative and fascinating. Lots of little bits to learn that are not just about the drama. Love it!

I remember my daughter was 5 and wanted to sing in the talent show. Everyone said I was mean for telling her "Remember, no one want the hear a lil kid kinda sorta sing, so you have to really sing!" 😉 It worked she did 💕

Abby, I am so glad you are doing reaction videos! I run my own kids theater and music company and dealing with the parents can be rough! There were moments when I would watch Dance Moms sobbing because I understood where you were coming from and the stress parents create. Sending you so much love!!!

I'm currently fighting cancer, and seeing you battle and make it through is so inspiring. You are such a strong woman, and I hope I can be half as amazing as you are when I beat this disease! ❤️

Love you Abby! My mom and I would watch every week. I was just beginning my career as a teacher when the show started, and I definitely had an Abby Lee Miller side lol. My mom passed away in 2020, but I am so thankful for the memories you gave us.

Not gonna lie, I think meeting Abby would be kinda nice to be friends with because shes learned some tough lessons and made a strong person, I also think Abby builds strong people and working people that won’t mess up.

This really shows things from another perspective. I figured that add in the combination of “reality” tv & coaching style that there was a lot of room for the viewers to misinterpret things. My kids have done dance for years & instructors vary in teaching style. But being honest & straightforward with a kid is the only way to get improvement.

Back when I was in high school (about 8 years ago) a friend of mine was a dancer who met Abby and I was so jealous! Lol she's so great :) I've always loved the show.

Tbh I always liked her way of teaching at least 90% of the time, it may seem tough, and it is, but as she said, that’s how you make a great artist, perfomer athlete and overall how you achieve the best. I had a ballet teacher just like her and it was hard at times but she got the best of me, she knew I could do better and wouldn’t let me take the easy way and be mediocre, some girls would quit or complain but I still thank her to this day for what she did, she was an amazing teacher.

Edit- And just look at JoJo she in my opinion is the most successful one in the end and she is the only who respects and has love for you and visited you during your illnesses. Just saying. Dance moms was really my show. It’s the only show I’ve rewatched. I found dance moms at a friends house and after that I was in love. At that time I think season 4 was out. This show really made me want to dance. Although I couldn’t dance like I wanted to (ballet, contemporary…) because I didn’t have those opportunities, I did try step in 5th grade, I danced in 8th grade which was mostly hip hop and high school as well I did Afro dance cause that was the closest I could be to dance and I loved it all and I was pretty good at it too. I do wish I could’ve done more dance cause I love it but life didn’t pull me in that direction. (I’m Muslim so my parents didn’t really like me doing it so I stepped back from it) If I ever have kids and they want to do dance, I’ll 100% let them. I really want to know more behind the scenes stuff and you should really make this a series. And maybe do AUDC too.

8 minutes? I can listen to it for hours! It's about time you talk about your side of the show. I love it! I only buy DVDs that features commentary, so I can learn the backstory of what I'm seeing. This video is like a producer's commentary, and I can watch all the seasons all over just listening to you explaining the production details and back stories! Please do more!

dear god i love abby. i had contoversial thoughts about her teaching but im so happy she told us the truth of the show. despite some of the lies of the show, i still love it so much.

I feel like she was painted as such a villian and while she's not perfect what else was she supposed to do given her circumstances????
